28 Pax met in the gloomy shadow of The Wall for YHC’s site VQ. Once our EC heroes returned, the collected Pax circled up for a peer-led warmup. All pax who have never Q’d a workout were called to the center one by one, and each led the group in a warmup exercise, in cadence. SSH, Mountain Climbers, Bodyweight Squats, Slow Merkins, Windmills, a few others.

Pax were then instructed to partner up, preferably with someone they didn’t already know well. As partners would be conducting COT for each other, some get-to-know-you 2nd F ensued as the ME began.

To the hill! Jacobs Ladder, always 7, 1 burpee at the bottom and 6 BWS at the top of the steep grass hill, repeato until 6-and-1, then plank.

Fellowship yog to the picnic tables for a F3 Police lecture on Merkin form, partners then completed 200 Merkins and 200 Dips between them, counting only Merkins performed with backs straight, chins up. No shame in going to your knees gentlemen, as long as the form stays proper. Low Squat Hold and SSH for those who finished early.

Fellowship to The Wall for a People’s Chair championship: stay in proper PC position (legs parallel to the ground, no hand/elbow support) for as long as possible, then into plank. To no one’s surprise, Yanni took home the big prize. What did he win? Shredded quads boys, shredded quads.

Fellowship back to the start, circle up for some Flutter Kick Mary, led (in perfect cadence) by our FNG, former Army translator, hereafter known as Windtalker. Note: he was named not for the badass WWII-era Navaho Code Talkers, but the epically bad 2002 Nicholas Cage movie (Rotten Tomatoes: 36%).

COT, as each pax introduced his partner with a short bio and a fun fact (did you know Dueling Banjos is a reformed California beach bum? Tis true). Grunge paid the penalty burpee price for a misremembered name, but otherwise relayed Poison’s life story flawlessly.
