All Things Up

November 14, 2019

WHEN: 11/14/2019
QIC: My Little Pony
PAX: Cardiac, Swamp, OPEC, Boucher

When YHC saw the forecast he admittedly wished he did not have the Q this morning. As the weatherman, kept talking about plummeting temps, YHC just kept wishing it would go the other direction. Knowing that wasn’t likely to happen, YHC laid out a plan to counter attack. If the temp was going down, then we were going Up.

Standard warmup that a frozen Q fumbled through

mosey to the playground to Brief the pax

each Pax would complete 4 exercises involving Up in a cycle, then take a lap around the peanut for the final Up. Then we’d do the same exercises but add another cycle and finish that off with another lap but at a slightly faster pace (aka the speed-Up)
One cycle = 5 pull-Ups, 10 raise-Ups (still hanging on pull bars raise your knees to your chest), 15 jump-Ups (aka jump squats), 20 push-Ups (the world famous merkin)

So 1 cycle, then lap at 70% speed

2 cycles, then lap at 80% speed

3 cycles, then lap at 90% speed

4 cycles, then lap at 100% speed

if you are scoring at home, that’s 50 pull-ups, 100 hanging leg lifts, 150 squats jumps, 200 merkins, and a pretty quick mile.

YHC thought about going back for 5, but he was cooked and had the pax each grab a rock instead.

We circled up and rotated around the rocks with each pax calling an exercise: tri extensions, curls, 8 count body builders with rocks, upright row and shoulder press.

kept the rocks for some American Hammers and Flutter Kicks.

alternating high low plank holds

finished off with 10 burpees OYO

Strong push this morning in brutal cold. Being out on mornings like this is truly stupid and this group has made me love every minute. Thanks fellas

prayers to Boucher’s Sunday school student and his family who are still coping with the sudden loss of their father this summer. Great story about taking a risk and putting yourself out there to help others in their times of need. That’s what it’s all about men.
