YHC’s oldest 2.0 Houdini is not a stranger to Qing, most memorably burpeeing a bunch of old dudes into the ground on his 11th birthday last August at The Piranha. But it had been a minute, and he was itching to get back on the sheet. His first-ever post was at Thin Blue Line, a tough Beano circuit, and the site has always been the most 2.0-friendly of the regular AOs. So he snagged the open spot and came up with this doozy, which put a hurting on his old man and perhaps a few others something good. So. Many. Jump squats. Grateful for all who showed, including his little sister Splits and Castaway’s 2.0s Sparkles and Puck.

I’m Houdini, and I approved this message.

Houdini led a standard warm up then, after a little fellowship lap, headed over to the rocks. He instructed we grab a two-hander but not one so big that it would wreck the grass field. Moseyed over there with rocks and tossed them across the field, bear crawling to retrieve each time. Then did the same going back only switching the mode of travel to bunny hop. (Cleared this particular activity with Knope and don’t think the field is any worse for wear.)

Moseyed back to return our rocks and headed to field. Split into two groups to facilitate distancing. Using the corners of half the field did a Seven of Diamonds

  • 7 burpees at each corner
  • 14 merkins at each corner
  • 21 WWIIs at each corner
  • 28 jump squats at each corner

Then it was time for 11s, modes of travel run to half field from baseline and backwards run back. Exercises were jump lunge (1, 1, 2, 2…) and, oh goody, more jump squats. YHC felt this sequence was particularly brutal.

Circled up for Mary with Houdini leading us in the Alphabet thing, where you spell out each letter of the Alphabet with your legs out of a six-inch hold, American Hammer X 20IC and LBCs X 20IC. With a little time to spare we went around the circle with different PAX calling out Mary exercises, including Homer to Marge, Box Cutters, Heels to Heaven and Freddy Mercury.

COT

Romper Room is now weekly, which started with the Botched beatdown that immediately followed today’s TBL. Thin Blue Line Q sheet is wide open after next week’s Scrooge McDuck Q. Houdini took us out with a nice prayer of thanksgiving for F3 and prayers for the health and safety of our nation.

MOLESKIN

Grateful for the kind words for Houdini from so many PAX. It was a great opportunity for him to develop his leadership skills, and YHC really appreciates the support and encouragement. Thank you, brothers. SYITG.
