2 years ago the emotional headlock from Mumbles finally paid off and YHC posted for the first time.  Shooter did the honor of delivering my first beatdown which happened to be at Fetzer.

So today’s theme was Shake It’s Greatest Hits.  HoP is a sight that YHC posted at frequently, and was blessed the opportunity to Q on many occasions.  YHC decided to comb back through some old backblasts, and pull out some memorable evolutions from his prior HoP Q’s

12 PAX met up for an EC 5k through Garrett Farms lead by Sweater Vest (he’s the only that knows the route).  Impressed with the fact that Sweater was able to pace us sub 8:00. It doesn’t get mentioned enough, but he’s made some good strides with his running in 2018.  I think we also had some PAX take part in some rucking, but I didn’t get a count.

At 0530 we circled up the start and we were 31 strong, including 3 FNGs.  After a few introductions and quick disclaimer, it was go time.

Warm-Up:

  • SSH x20
  • WMH x10
  • Prison Squats x10
  • SC Merkins x10
  • SC Wide Merkins x10
  • SC Diamond Merkins x10

The Thang

Part 1: Curbside Service from 11/08/17

Moseyed over to the bottom of the parking lot and had everyone find some curb.  One minute of bunny hops on and off the curb. We then performed a wheel of merkins.  5 incline merkins. Rotate 90 degree clockwise so that left hand is on the curb and do 5 more merkins.  Rotate again and do 5 derkins. Rotate one more time and 5 merkins with right hand on curb. We did this twice.  Finished up with one more minute of hopping.

Part 2: Paula Abdul from 3/21/18

For those not familiar, you bear crawl two parking spaces forward performing 5 merkins, and then crawl bear one parking space back performing 5 merkins.  Church of the Good Shepherd may want to consider repainting their lines. No clue how they handle parking on a Sunday morning. We went from the island at the bottom of the parking lot to the next island on the row.

Part 3: Island Hunting from 1/10/18

Who didn’t know this was going to happen?  We moseyed over to the steps. PAX had to run to each of the 6 islands in the South Parking Lot and perform 5 burpees.  However, you had to make a return trip to the steps prior to visiting your next island. This was a gasser. Juco, Sweats, and Beano set the pace up front, but all the PAX showed some grit here.

There was a part 4 planned that involved steel, but unfortunately HoP is only a 45 minute workout.

Mary:

  • Box Cutters x20
  • Hello Dolly x20
  • Peter Parkers x10
  • Parker Peters x10
  • Peter Parker Peters x10
  • Futter Kicks until YHC got tired.  Crapped out at 60.

COT:

Sweats talked to the PAX about rucking.  Information was shared on HVRC, the Tuesday and Friday workouts, and signing up for Pathfinder.

I was extremely grateful for the strong show of support at HoP this morning.  There were a ton of non-HoP regulars that turned to be there for my 2nd anniversary.  4 PAX (Gordo, Beano, Subprime, and Avalanche) were present on that first post, so it was extra special having them out there. F3 has been an amazing influence on my life.  First and foremost, I’m just proud to be surrounded by an incredible community of men. Although we don’t always see each other at normal hours, I’d like to think that I’ve made some lasting friendships.  F3 is also responsible for getting me back in shape. On top of all the workouts I’ve been to (~1,000), having a rucking community and running community has allowed me to continue to better myself. I absolutely love the fact that there’s always someone out there to run with me when I want company.  Thank you F3 Churham!!
