29 Pax including one FNG (So Crates) and two 2.0s (Prime Time and Hang Time, with Weezer) convened on a cloudy and humid morning at Rameses for an old school BLIMPS tennis court escalator. Much fun was had. Here’s what happened.
Warm up – jog to upper parking lot for SSHx25, windmills x10, arm circles forward and reverse x10, Willie Mays Hays x10, and Merkin x10, all cadence count.
Jog back to OEC tennis courts, stopping at the sidewalk railing for overhand and underhand pulls (10x cadence count each) with irkins in between (10x cadence count).
At the tennis courts, line up on the sideline of court 1 for the BLIMPS escalator:
B. bear crawl the width of the first court, run back and do 10 burpees
L. Bear crawl the width of two tennis courts, run back and do 10 burpees plus 10 lunges, each leg.
I. Bear crawl three courts, run back and do 10 burpees, 10 lunges, and 10 imperial walkers.
M. At this point we switched to running the courts – so run 4 and back and add 10 merkins to the previous exercises.
P. Run 5 courts and back and add 10 Peter Parkers to the previous exercises.
S. Run 6 courts and back and add 10 squats to all of the above.
Jog to the covered picnic area and count off by sixes; the “ones” head down to the pull-up bar for 10 pull-ups while the rest of the group does dips and irkins (sets of 15, cadence count). As arms started getting rubbery we moved to parking lot for, among other things, long slow flutter, cross LBCs, heels to heaven, and Subprime ski abs. Once all six groups knocked out their pull-ups, we jogged around the outside of the tennis courts and down to the bottom of Tar Heel Warrior Mountain. We had just enough time for a sprint (jog?) up THWM and to the top of the parking lot where we circled up.
Thanks, as always, for the honor of leading the group this morning. As I mentioned taking us out, it was great seeing so many old friends – and it serves as (another!) reminder to me that I need to get out of the neighborhood and hit other AOs from time to time. This thing we have, at F3, is truly incredible.
Thank you Subprime for nudging me to take the Q at an old haunt today.
