I was super excited to join Madden for this special for kickoff to co-q month at the thicket. We decided that we would do a super bowl theme for today and we had a generic idea and how we would work it together. Here is the list of what we did.
Madden led the Warmarama and followed it with a football toss. The football was thrown around the circle and if they dropped the toss, they had to then led a different warm-up exercise. Evidently, Quicken and Maraschino need some help in understanding a warm-up exercise. Quicken called out Bonnie Blairs and Maraschino called absolutions. I would argue those are more main event exercises but we all enjoy Madden's enthusiasm to lead and this was a great way to warm-up.
Next up was my time to work on some block work. We each lined up the blocks and pretended those are footballs and called out the hike as the quarterback and created a sortof reverse murder bunny. It's a fun one that we completed across the parking lot and back. Everyone had a different cadence and I think Beaujolais kept saying kick instead of hut but we got it done.
Next up was Madden's chance to do some football work so we headed back to the back of the school where the playground was. This was the 10 yard at a time push. It was like doing 11 but with the football theme of 10 yards at a time. You would do 1 pull-up and 9 merkins and then 2 and 8 and then 3 and 7, for ten yards at a time until eventually there were 9 pull-ups or 9 second hangs with 1 pushups.
After this was spectator half-time with some wall sits and clapping. Different Pax would call different types of claps until all Pax had a chance to call out a clap and everyone was sitting in people's chair the whole time.
Final part of the football workout was the hold the line. We ran back around to the blocks and worked on our offensive and defensive line. There was a line of blocks and a really big block was on the front. The exercises were called by the pax who was at the front, all pax did the exercise and then sprinted across the parking lot to the other side and rotated down the line. The person at the end of the line, had to sprint up to the front of the line with the big block and call out the exercise. We rinsed and repeated this until each Pax touched the big block. RG3 called out 3 blockies and immediately regretted that decision.
Mary: We finished out with a few LBCs and dying cockroaches
COT: There are several anniversaries this week and the wolf is on 2/18 in Hillsborough as well as the Cloudbuster on 3/3.
