Got the honor and fortune of being welcomed in with open arms and joyful hearts nearly 2 years ago on 2/2/2021. To make a long story short I was quite a different person then and am so happy I've found this group of men and more specifically the SoDu contingent. Swamp led my first F3 workout and I was asked afterwards what I thought of it, I said without hesitation, "this is Salvation". I still believe that we have all the right ingredients in F3 Churham to cultivate and tend to this path of salvation.

This workout was very important to YHC and as such in the days leading up to it I overcomplicated things in my head and with only a day out my mind was stuck in a cacophony of noise. Finally it occurred to me that I could make it very simple and trust in the spirit of the occasion to rise within me. To that I carved out a simple plan that can easily be replicated.

I set up 3 stations around the school.

Station 1 is the first loop that we use at Parkwood it is cut off by the sidewalk and one much traverse to either side of the gate. It's accessible on Clermont Rd and then taking the left. As Parkwood has a plethora of cones to alleviate the prevalence of aggressive driving for the school pick up line, I decided to use every one of those heavy cones. I set up station 1 with 4 cones leading up to the Ballards by the gates. Cone 1 is the start cone for Running forwards, Cone 2 is the first Karaoke, Cone 3 is Backwords, Cone 4 is the other Karaoke. Once reaching the Ballards you run weaving through them and they go quite a ways around to the entrance of the school to the left. Cone 5 is for Bear Crawl and Cone 6 is for Crab Walk back to the start line, I might have cone 5 and 6 reversed. We did that 3 times. I had the PAX do Inch Worm Jerkins that finished first. An Inch Worm Jerkin is an Inch Worm Merkin followed by Inching back to a homeward to marge when you can if you so desire yell out "Jerkin".

Station 2 was set up to the right of the Clermont Rd first right entrance. Cones were set up at the start point then a straight run to the beginning of curb in the loop for Crawl Bears up to the end of the curb where you return to the straight run in the loop, upon reaching the sidewalk which is a straight line down to the start point you do Walk Crab down to the start cones. We did this 3 times as well. InchWorm Jerkins while waiting.

Had PAX grab a block and then gave instructions for a 'Man Down Rifle Carry' to the basketball court going along the gravel drive that runs behind the building. The man down rule was that if any PAX at any time needed to drop the block they would yell "Man Down" and we would all have to put our blocks down and run back to the start and run back to our blocks and resume the rifle carry. I realized at around the midway point that no PAX was going to admit to a need for "Man Down" so I took it upon myself to take the fall.

Upon arriving at the basketball court I had the PAX line up on the horizontal line for what was to be 11's shortened to 7's and then shortened to 5's of what I've been calling the "Mortar Mixer". Consists of 1 Blockee at one end Bear Crawl to other side and do 4 Star Jumps and then Crab Walk back. Did the deed, returned the blocks.

This workout was dedicated to my companion or 16 years RoseBud a tremendous life lived by a Bengal Cat.

Here's the obituary my M wrote for her:

On January 19, 2023, an incredible being, our precious Rosebud Baby Kitty crossed the rainbow bridge. She spent the 16 years of her life by Theo’s side. As a kitten in Ohio you could find them in the garden together. They loved playing hide and seek, and roaming the forests together. They both bravely left their feral lives in the Appalachian hills to move to the Triangle and create a domesticated family. Rosebud was a heart burglar known to steal the hearts of all she met, even those “non-cat” people. She loved her husky best friend brother, Jack Pup, and she balanced their many snuggles with some firm discipline-it was quite clear that Rosebud was the Queen ruling us all. We took statistics one month to see who she slept with the most nights, and somehow she managed to equally divide her time between Marley, Rafi, Theo, and I giving us equal doses of her magic cuddle medicine. She was an unusual cat who spoke, chirped, played, jumped on the trampoline, hunted catnip, visited neighbors, and embedded herself into every piece of our routines. Rosebud gave us the gift of her full presence and unconditional love, she showed us that it is possible to be fiercely independent and securely attached. Her passing leaves the challenge of new rhythms, the adjustment to silence where there used to be paw sounds and mwwrrrawrs. Eckhart Tolle writes, “I have lived with several Zen Masters–all of them cats”, isn’t that the truth? We were so lucky to have lived with her, rest easy sweet baby kitty, Rosebud, we love you!
