09/16/2022 Honey Badger – Triple Checking History

September 16, 2022

WHEN: 09/16/2022
QIC: Knope
PAX: Cool J, Kia, Nucky, Pick Pocket, Spot
ME HEADCOUNT: 6

Fellas, it's been a helluva week! Feeling yesterday's Iron Pax Wk.2 workout, a booster shot, and coming off a 12+ hour workday, had me starting the day feeling a bit ragged. In the flashes of moments I had going into today, I had thought of taking the triple check and working on muscles that weren't hurting. Once Pick Pocket got there we started.

Warm Up
Harvester x 10, slow and IC
WMH x 12
LBAC x 12
RLBAC x 12
Chinooks x 12
SSH x 12
Hillbillies x 12

We then moseyed to our first stop, the Durham County Administration Building. The triple check here consisted of Running around the building (timer), LBCs and Peter Parker Peters. In groups of three, the timer ran, when he returned, he moved to LBC, the PAX doing LBC did the PPPs, until all three PAX on each team ran. A quick description by YHC about the building was provided and on to the next stop.

The Triple Check at City Hall consisted of a run around City Hall, Sit Ups and 8 Count Man Makers. As YHC and Kia did our run, we ran down the stairs where Happy Gilmore and I created the Johnny Drama, so we did JDs, both with knees locked, and with knees bent. One of the PAX wasn't sure what an 8 Count Man Maker was, so I felt obligated to introduce him to the 10 Count Man Maker too. After a set of 10, it was another quick explanation of who worked at City Hall and a history lesson about the origin of the Honey Badger.

Another quick mosey took us to the most important building in Durham, the Parks & Recreation Department. Our triple check here consisted of a counter clockwise run around the building, with Freddie Mercuries and Absolutions. The DPR building is pretty self explanatory, but while on campus we talked about one of the founding AO Qs, Happy Gilmore, and how much we miss him. During this interlude we talked about the influence that F3 has on mental health, not just physical health. I acknowledged my struggles with depression and anxiety, and how much F3 helps with that. There were several heads nodding during this conversation, and I hope that helps break the ice in talking about it. Our time was nearly up, so we moseyed back to Startex.

At Startex, we jumped right into Mary. Feeling incomplete, YHC gave a explanation, and we did a quick 5 set of 12 County Body Baggers. We followed it with Flutter Kicks (30 IC), Hello Dollys (20 IC) and Heels to Heaven (10 IC).

We announced The Bull and The Quarterly Report, October 29 and October 1, respectively. Check the tabs for signing up for each on the CHURHAM EPIC MEGA DOC, found here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GsoPhxTdxpLNFYCLPWSVUOMNLN6w-potWpTlpaH-0-Y/edit?usp=sharing
YHC took us out.

I can only speak for myself when I say that even a bad workout is healthy for my mental and emotional wellbeing. Taking the time to post with your F3 brothers, is important in fighting off the gray days. Being in a better headspace helps us all be better men. Thank you for the help, both known and unknown, that F3 has provided for me over the past 5 years. Watch out for each other, reach out when a PAX is missing, keep this community tight so we all accelerate. I appreciate the opportunity that you gave me to lead today.

SYITG!
