Vegas, Baby!

May 13, 2017

WHEN: 05/13/2017
QIC: F3Churham
PAX: Coco, Riggs, Dream Catcher, Funny Money, Snots, Peppermint Pattie (FNG), Zombie (FNG), Choo Choo, Moxie, Big Cat, Checkmate, Python, The Exchange, Food Lion, Floyd, Cardiac, 2Ply, Red October, RevRun, Johnny 5, Sweats

4 PAX (Choo Choo, Riggs, Coco, and YHC) met a litte early for an hour long ruck and some reconnaissance. Good fellowship and we searched the woods for a new workout spot. Oh and snacks. Did I forget to mention we had snacks?
At 0700, promptly, 14 PAX mosied to the center of the field for a little warm-up session. Beginning at 0701, the late train started to roll in and YHC decided that some penalty burpees were in order. 5 penalty burpees for every late PAX. Unfortunately, there were 6 late PAX so we did 30 burpees right off the bat. Our official PAX count was now at 21. Then we did some SSH x 10, Willie Mayes Hayes x 10, Windmills x 10, little baby arm circles x 20.
The Thang. Today”s Q was split between YHC (Floyd) and Cardiac. Floyd went first.
Vegas, Baby!
Floyd is going to Vegas this week and so he felt he needed some practice rolling dice. So he brought his pair of 6″ x 6″ field dice. The 20 PAX were split into 4 groups of 5. Each group took a turn rolling the dice and then had to do whatever was on the white board for that number. After completing the exercise, run a fellowship cool down 1/2 lap and roll again. There were many different combinations rolled so I cannot say who did what. I do know that 2Ply”s group seemed to be very bad at rolling and did at least 100 yards of traveling burpees, 30 burpees, suicides and maybe a few others. My group ended up doing suicides, 15 burpees x 2, 30 WWII situps, bear crawl to half x 2, 20 Jump Lunges, 20 Carolina Dry Docks and a crab walk.
Dice Key:
2: 30 burpees
3: 50 Side Shuffle Hops
4: Crab Walk from 18 to half field
5: 30 WWII situps
6: 20 Squat Jumps and 20 Merkins
7: Suicides (run to 18, half, other 18, full field)
8: 15 Burpees
9: Half field bear crawl
10: 20 Jump Lunges and 20 Carolina Dry Docks
11: Half field traveling burpees
12: 40 Merkins
Well, the easy part was over and we had to turn the Q over to Cardiac (queue ominous music)
Cardiac”s Q: It doesn”t have a name, it was just a bunch of random things which when viewed cumulatively were very exhausting.
Thing 1:
Go to the hill: Run to the Top and do 5 burpees and then low squat hold. Run back down the hill.
Thing 2: Line up on the barrier fence going up the hill. Irkin walk for 3 posts, then Derkin walk for 3 posts. Halfway up the hill this was changed to Irkin walk for 6 posts, Derkin walk for 3 posts. Once Cardiac got to the top, we stopped. Folks, I cannot emphasize enough how much of a beast Cardiac is. He beat us by at least 50 yards and F3 Churham is filled with true players.
Once Cardiac banged on the stop sign, we had to do 5 burpees. Meet in the middle of the hill for…
Thing 3:
Crawl bear down the hill. This sucked. Enough said.
Thing 4:
Run to the soccer field and line up on the end line. Beast style bunny hop to the 6, do 6 frog jumps, bunny hop to the 12 and do 6 frog jumps, bunny hop to the 18, 6 frog jumps. Then repeat this back to the start.
Thing 5: Gorilla walk to the 18
Thing 6: 6 inch leg raises then flutter kicks. Sprint 50 yards, do some plank work, sprint back 50 yards.
Thing 7: Side shuffle 50 yards to mid field. Do more plank work, Side Shuffle back.
Thing ??? At some point in the midst of all of this we also did a backwards Gorilla Walk. Also at some point in all of this we did a bunch of Russian hammers.
YHC was exhausted and maybe we did other things, but it is honestly a bit of a blur….
COT: Floyd said some nice things I think, inspirational, uplifting, life changing things.
Moleskin:
Welcome FNG”s Peppermint Pattie and Zombie. PP got his name because he is from York, PA. Zombie got his name because his first name is Rob. I never got their info, so if anyone sees them, invite them to Slack.
There are some events coming up including:
June 3rd: Party at Pink”s house. TBL and TBR are still being held. Party afterwards. More details to follow. Also on June 3, The Virginia Spartan and Running of the Bulls.
June 9: Special Ops Survivors. There will be an event at TOPO in Chapel Hill Friday night. Seems like the place to be. A virtual who”s who among F3. Here is a link to their page including a fund raiser: https://specialopssurvivors.kindful.com/team-f3-churham-2017
June 10: At TBL the Special Ops guys are going to come out and workout with us. Riggs, who will not be in attendance, thoughtfully asked if maybe the Special Ops guys could lead part of the workout.
June 17: Dad”s day convergence. Bring your 2.0. Likely to be held at TBR (not confirmed oficially).
Prayers out to our boy, Lo Pair who is tackling his medical concerns like a boss.
Also thoughts and prayers out to Porterhouse”s family. If all went the way it should, they should have a new 2.0 by now (also unconfirmed).
If you made it this far, you deserve 50 Floyd Planks. Have a great Saturday.
