Three years ago today, F3 Charlotte, Raleigh and Cary convened at the Thin Blue Line for what was billed as the Resurgence. For the fact-checkers out there, here”s the backblast from May 10, 2014: http://f3nation.com/2014/05/10/the-resurgence/
This morning we attempted to recreate that workout from three years ago, although we tried to cram 60 minutes into the 45 allotted for this morning.
Here”s what happened:
Warm-up, various reps, all in cadence: SSH, imperial walker, air squats, mountain climbers, Merkins.
Jog to opposite lot, down hill, up Culbreth Road and up driveway back to where we started, stopping at the pull-up bars.
The pax lined up on sidewalk facing pull-up bars. 2 pax peel off and knock out 15 pull-ups each, while the rest of the pax watches. Just kidding. The rest of the pax did numerous exercises with no breaks until all pax had finished their pull-ups. Exercises included jump squats, hello dolly, slow Merkins, mountain climbers, wide grip merkins, ski abs, box cutters, burpees (2x), Russian hammers, WW2s, long slow flutter, and a few more I”m sure.
Next jog to field and line up on end line for bear crawl to top of box, gorilla walk to next line, bear crawl to mid line. Sprint back. Repeat-o.
Circle up behind field for core exercises including carolina dry docks, Parker peters, Peter parkers, slow Merkins, and mountain climbers.
Jog one lap around track and head to parking lot for precisely 6 minutes of Mary, including hello dolly, mountain climbers, Russian hammer, and finished with plank-o-rama (everyone holds plank while each pax knocks out 5 merkins, in order around the circle).
Announcements- Thank you to DOI for starting this workout and serving as site-Q for the last – what – 15 months? Selfie and I together have big shoes to fill as new site-Qs for the Cougar.
COT- F3 is about a lot of things, but recently I”ve been contemplating resilience. We all are thrown curve-balls from time to time in life and the way we choose to stand in and face our challenges feels to me a lot like the way we choose to drag ourselves out of bed before the sun and post, and also how we push ourselves at (through) every workout.
Being out there with all of you reminds me, and hopefully each of you, that none of us are alone, as we face life”s challenges.
Thanks for the honor of leading you this morning, and for being part of such an awesome group.
