Going out with a bang

As we transition the Fetzer site to Kenan Stadium due to the impending construction to the entire middle of the UNC Athletics Campus – including Historic Fetzer Field (will it be renamed Shooter Stadium?), YHC thought it would be nice to squeeze a little bit more pain out of the Belk Track and the surrounding facilities before the digging begins.
5 Pax did a blistering EC 5K (+) down the hill (and thus back up) to the Greenwood Neighborhood.
15 Pax started moseyed over to the usual warm up location at Fetzer
Warm up:
Seal jacks IC x 20
Imperial walker IC x 20
Good morning IC x 10
Arm circles IC x 10 (Forwards, then backwards)
Merkins IC x 20
The Thang:
Dealers choice / circle of pain / Usain Bolts
We stayed in our circle and one Pax would call out an exercise and then sprint a 400 on the Track, while the remaining pax would perform the exercise. It took a few rotations for the exercises to get a bit challenging. The exercises were AMRAP/OYO. During this time Walt found us, then shortly after Coco and Buffet joined us after doing an investigative campus tour – perhaps the plot for a future F3 children”s book – “Where in the World is the F3 Workout?” We started doubling up the 400s (two pax would run together) halfway through as this was taking longer than YHC anticipated…

  • Bear crawl around circle then when complete one revolution, crawl bear back the other way
  • Double merkin traveling burpee
  • Lunge walks
  • Hand release merkins
Mosey to steps
Box jump up to the top
Lunge walk half of the concourse to the main gate
Bear crawl the remaining to the main gates
Reform circle outside the main gate
2 sets of 2 Pax would do 10 pull ups each on the main gate bars, then sprint to traffic arm at the top of the drive and back and regain the circle and rotate
The remaining pax continued to do exercises

Squats, etc.
Once completed, we returned to the track for a reverse 400 sprint, plank to wait for the 6, then Mosey back to Gate 2 at Kenan Stadium
