5 EC ruckers took a 40lb sandbag and their personal rucks for a 2.5mile morning campus stroll. Upon their return, they found 14 more smiling faces at #Rameses ready for the ME.
The Warm Up
SSH (x25 IC) then mosey to the top of the hill, circling up again in the church parking lot for;
Merkins (x10 IC)
Wide-grip merkins (x10 IC)
Diamond-grip merkins (x10 IC)
Staggered grip merkins (right hand forward; left hand back) (x10 IC)
Staggered grip merkins (left hand forward; right hand back) (x10 IC)
Alternating right/left-arm high merkins (x10 IC)
Single-arm merkins (x5 right OYO; x5 left OYO)
EKG merkins (x10 IC)
Spider man merkins (x10 IC)
Superman merkins (x10 IC)
The Thang
With the 1st set of 100 merkins in the books – the PAX shook out their wobbly arms and continued the mosey towards campus. The pull towards Blackball”s house was strong, especially knowing an espresso machine was likely waiting to crank out cappuccinos for all 19 guys, but alas – we continued along the top level of the law school parking deck.
With 4 bright street lamps lighting out way and a final wall to serve as our 5th marker, we launched into a full-length deck suicide with 10 merkins at each marker and the start point. (…carry the 5…subtract the 4…multiply by pi… that”s our 2nd set of 100 merkins). At this point, it seemed wise to give the arms and shoulders a break by moseying just a bit further down South Rd. to one of the many well-positioned stone walls around campus.
Assume the position for a box jump pyramid (or step-ups as needed). 5:10:15:10:5.
Regardless of vertical leap for any PAX… the pyramid was considered a success merely based on the fact that no one (a) either required the services Dr. Doogie (facial reconstruction) or Dr. Cheese (broken shins/ortho care). Carry on towards Student Stores and wait for all PAX at the bottom of the stairs.
A compressed Jacob”s ladder (always totaling 6) was up next.
1 merkin at the bottom; 5 BWS at the top. Repeato until you arrive at the inverse.
Plank it out until the final man finishes.
Ascend the stairs again for a cruise past The Pit and on to the infamous Wilson Library steps. The PAX divided quickly into 2 groups. Group 1 ascended the Wilson Lib steps via crawl-bear. Group 2 dipped it out (x44) on the stone wall while enjoying the crawl-bear spectacle before them. Flapjack.
Our final movement would be to cross Polk Place to the steps at South Building for a final crawl-bear ascent of the stairs. 10 SSH (OYO) at the top would cap it all off. Given the Garmin now reflected 0626, we hustled back to the start point for a compressed COT.
COT
PH – Today is Jersey Mike”s Annual Day of Giving. (see PH”s email from this morning). Thanks PH for setting such a solid example and for the community support that you & your boys at JMs are constantly engaged in. Of course… thanks for being A Sub Above.
Da Bull – I heard it”s this coming Saturday, 4/1. Someone should email Doogie to check.
YHC failed to ensure that all PAX had safely returned. We lost Blindside on the return run, but it was confirmed that he was successfully rescued by PH in the SAG wagon on the way home.
Day 3 of 5 in the books for BDay Q week. It never gets old to spend time with you guys… although the birth certificate says I”m the one getting old… Aye! -Coco
