WHEN: 02/17/2017
QIC: F3Churham
PAX: TROLLER, Pebbles, Foot fault, The Exchange, Cooter, Tater, Bushwood, Assisi, Elf, Sweats, Peach, The Donald, Shovel, Driftwood and a few more that I missed unfortunately

7 PAX slowly emerged from their cars and strapped on their rucks while a lone, rather spry PAX dressed in Bengal orange campaigned for others to join him for a timed 5K. Unfortunately the Sweats Running Club was to be a club of 1 this AM and to make things worse, the good people at Jordan HS neglected to unlock the track forcing Sweats to take his smoke show to the streets of Hope Valley – in retrospect, probably the right call given what I”ve seen what Sweats can do to a track. While Sweats was running, 7 PAX rucked down to the Food Lion parking lot and got in 15 rounds of ruck PT – pull-up, squats, presses, sprints, lunges, and so on. While we were there, Elf shared a fun fact about Yamazushi; apparently one of the best Japanese restaurants in the state is tucked between Beth”s Bark N Bubbles and Subway; gotta love the NC strip mall restaurant scene.
8 more PAX were waiting for the EC crew in the parking lot. Quick look at the watch, 0530 – let”s get this started
Warm-up:
Standard fare for a YHC-led warm-up – mix of SSH, IW, arm circles, seal & overhead claps and slow merkins
The thang:
Candidly, YHC winged it today. I planned a smoke show on the track but was stymied by the track being closed and forced to audible.
The first test for the PAX was rather formidable. PAX lined up in 6 lines and stared down a long corridor of columns that made a breezeway in front of Jordan – roughly 12 or so (Troller, check me on this?) columns spaced out every 10 yards or so.
1st trip: Bunny hop between columns, 10 squat jumps each column
2nd trip: Crab walk between columns, 10 heels to heaven
3rd trip: Bear crawl between columns, 10 merkins
** low hold plank or low hold squat while waiting for all groups to finish
Feeling the burn, the PAX traveled down to the field house outside the track and sprinted backwards up the hill to the traffic circle, then jogged back down. Repeato 5x
At this point, YHC was starting to get exhausted, so a mixed bag of things ensued in the adjacent parking lot…
– 2 rounds of sprints + exercise (group was split in half) – one half runs, other half does exercise. Burpees and star jumps were the PT du jur
– Group lunge walk across the lot, jog back
– Group karaoke across the lot, jog back
9 minutes of round-robin Mary to close things out — Assisi started us off strong with nearly 3 minutes of plank, followed by equally as painful add-ins from The Donald, Troller, Peach and a few others. We finished by bringing back an oldie by a goodie, the Floyd to DIY, then to Bushwood for solid 3 minutes of Superman.
COT:
– Prayers for YHC”s aunt Maureen who passed away yesterday afternoon after a battle with cancer; service is early next week

– Beautiful closing prayer by Driftwood, thank you!
