With an AO called the Cougar, there is no more appropriate workout than the Ark Loader! Twenty PAX chose to enter the gloom in an effort to collect some of the earth”s most magnificent creatures.
WARM UP:
– SSH (IC, x25)
– Air Squats (IC, x10)
– Arm Circles (IC, forward and reverse, x10)
– Slow Merkins (IC, x15)
– Willie Mays Hayes (IC, x10)
THE THANG:
This was the first ark loading workout for many of the PAX in attendance, so YHC gave a quick explanation of what was to come after completion of the warm-up exercises. We then moseyed to the football field where cones had been strategically placed from the end zone to the 50-yard line. The PAX staggered out in a line across the end zone and completed the following animal movements:
– Inch Worm (20 yards)
– Duck Walk (30 yards)
– Crab Walk (50 yards)
*Brief Intermission for Crab Crunches (IC, x10 each side)
– Crouching Tiger Crawl (50 yards)
– Kangaroo Hops (50 yards)
– Monkey Walk (25 yards right side, 25 yards left side)
*Brief Intermission for Monkey Merkins (IC, x10)
– Scorpion Walk (25 yards right leg up, 25 yards left leg up)
– Snake Crawl (10 yards)
– Seal Crawl (40 yards)
– Bear Crawl (50 yards)
– Crawl Bear (50 yards)
– Cheetah Sprint (100 yards, x2)
Note: The PAX who finished each animal movement first were tasked with completing one of the following exercises while waiting on the rest of the group to finish (AMRAP) SSH, merkins, air squats, plank hold.
MARY:
– LBCs (IC, x15)
– Dead Bug Crunches (IC, x15)
– Flutter Kicks (IC, x20)
