We started the Cougar a year ago as a second Wednesday workout because of the success that Dunphy and Subprime had in growing Ramses we needed to provide another option. It launched in 14 degree weather and if you don”t believe in global warming it was almost 50 degrees warmer today (coincidence?). Homes sent me the BB from the first workout and as I looked at the PAX who were there I saw a lot of names we hadn”t seen in a long time. So with a message out yesterday that we would be going for a full hour this morning it was awesome to see so many of the men who hadn”t been out in a while…you were missed.
32 men showed up to celebrate and set a Cougar record. So with the parking lot full Wuerffel rounded us up and off we went.
Warm Up
Two laps around the track (mumblechatter about confusion that we were at the Goat)
SSH
Willie Mays Hayes
Arm Circles
Merkins
The Thang
Get in groups of three. PAX 1 goes to the far end of the track does 20 merkins and planks when complete. PAX 2 stays put does 10 burpees and planks when complete. PAX 3 runs to replace PAX 1, PAX 1 runs to replace PAX 2 and so on. This went on for way too long. We then gathered at the end of the track and knocked out 10 burpees.
Time to leave the track and run to the rock pile. Instructions were to grab the heaviest rock you can find. Take your rock down to the wall and we knocked out a People”s Chair. Here”s the wrinkle…put the rock in your lap and put your hands up. Every man rips off a 10 count…some were fast, some were slow, some were in Spanish and some were done together…it was a long time with 32 men. Recover and switch rocks with another man. Back in PC and knock out IC chest press. Recover and switch rocks. Back in PC and knock out 10 IC overhead press. Stand and do 10 full squat to overhead press with the rock.
Off to the low wall with your rock. Feet on the wall rock on your chest. Down the line each man calls “Up” while the PAX does a WWII which got us to around 32 (not the first time my instructions weren”t all that clear). Next 15 IC dips just staring at your rock. Then 10 derkins right hand on your rock. Follow up with 10 derkins left hand on your rock. 20 IC right leg step ups with your rock. 20 IC left leg step ups with your rock. Stand and do 20 full squat to overhead press with the rock. On your back again with feet on the wall for 20 WWIIs with rock on your chest.
Return rocks to the pile and head down to the road. Line up along the fence. 20 derkins on the low rail. 10 IC SSHs. 15 derkins on the middle rail. 10 IC SSHs. 10 derkins on the high rail. 10 IC SSHs. Return back up to the AO.

My second post was the one year anniversary of what is now F3 Churham. We had 31 men there (I was the chubby guy) and the excitement over the growth was awesome. It”s amazing to think that we now get the same number of men out to a single workout. It speaks to the work and effort of the leadership of Adolphus and Riggs, and to the continued work of every man to bring a friend out and assuring them that getting up at 5am to go sweat with a bunch of idiots will wind up being the best part of their day.
