April 29, 2016

WHEN: 04/29/2016
QIC: Sweats
PAX: Alfalfa, Assisi, Bushwood, Amphibious, Beano, 2-Ply, Sawyer, Wool-E, The Strowd, Offering Plate, Ricky Bobby, Shovel, Boucher, Sweatervest, Crockett, Mr. Brady, Peach, My Little Pony, Avalanche, Driftwood, Tuco

There”s an old saw that the best workouts are conceived over a few pints. Everybody knows that, right? Just work with me. YHC was on his way to Tobacco Road (the bar, not the AO) for some 2F last night when Two Ply emailed asking for a last-minute substitute Q. Given my proximity to the Falcon and my love for the site, I gladly agreed. Over a few beers, a few PAX helped YHC workshop some workout ideas, the fruits of which you”ll see below.
6 showed up for an Amphibious-led EC and then 22 found courage for the main event. Hey, the first step out of bed is the hardest one, right? Let”s get ready to RUMBLE!

  • Jog to track, WU: SSH X 20; Imperial Walker X 20; Mountain Climber X 20; Merkin X 20; Wille Mays Hayes X 20

Head to the track:

  • Broken wheelbarrow on the straightaways, mosey on the turns, switching with your partner at your discretion
  • 20 slow-count Merkins
  • 400 yard dash
  • 20 slow-count squats
  • 800 yard dash

Head to the walkway near the front parking lot for partner box jumps/BTTW.

  • One guy does 30 box jumps, the other BTTW until the other guy is done, switch
  • One guy does 15 box jumps, the other guy People”s Chair until partner is done, switch
  • 20 single leg squats, each leg
  • Low/mid plank holds for 1 minute
  • People”s Chair for 3 minutes, or should I say the Falcon”s Chair (arms flapping vigorously sideways and in front)? I recognize it may have been done before but I”m claiming naming rights at least.

Mary:

  • 50 Flutter Kicks courtesy of Bushwood
  • 20 Russian Hammers
  • 20 WWIs
  • Low plank hold for 1.5 minutes

Moleskine:

  • Crockett led the outgoing prayer, which is always on point.
  • Great to see such a huge turnout the day after an awesome SecondF meeting. I think over 20 PAX were in attendance last night at Tobacco Road. Great to see everyone outside of the gloom, though it is a bit off-putting to see casually dressed PAX when all you”ve ever seen each other in is F3 shirts and, of course, sweats (wait, or is that just me?). Can”t wait to do it again.
  • YHC is on the hunt for a new Tuesday Durham AO. Let me know if you have any ideas on sites!
  • Sawyer and Two Ply request that folks sign up to Q at Falcon this summer, unless you want YHC to do it
  • Good luck to those running the Mud Run tomorrow!
