Twelve PAX met up at The Big House for a trail run. As I shared in the pre-Blast, I was running for my M in honor of breast cancer awareness so if any of you were out and saw a guy in a hot pink shirt, that was YHC. Thanks to the PAX for the round of applause for breast cancer awareness. I personally didn’t think we’d get this whole run in, but either YHC has gotten slower or the 6 has really picked up their game since our brother Grunge got The Rabbit started.

THE THANG
Wanted to get as much elevation change out of BC trails as I could (Grunge note: Yes, my brother!!) Led the PAX to Copperhead East and just before the second bridge banged a left and introduced The Rabbit faithful to Horseshoe. On the way over to the Horseshoe, discovered a large hole had opened in the path, but thankfully, the cold has driven the disturbingly large spiders away, so a win some lose some. The Horseshoe brought some decent uphill combined with some highly technical stretches of rock gardens and roots. After wrapping the Horseshoe up, with YHC losing his way once on a false trail (guess I’m not as country as I thought), we finished out Copperhead East and stood at the base of Bennett Mountain, where the real fun was set to begin. We started our Bennett Mountain suicides. Repeats of the face of Bennett Mountain x4 of increasing length until we got to the top of the running trail with Spooky setting the pace. After we finished our Bennett Mountain suicides, we headed over to the Pokeberry Creek running trail across the bridge to Great Ridge Parkway for an AYG up the hill back to the AO.

Spooky recruiting folks for his annual Halloween haunted house. Anyone who is interested is welcome to dress up and play a part. Grunge noted that Spooky has a rep for doing it up big and that this promises to be an awesome event. Spooky will also be Q for The Rabbit on Halloween Tuesday and big plans are being made for the zombie run fun.
Grunge mentioned that he will be Q at The Big House this week. If anyone is interested in some recovery yoga and stretching, followed by a mid session break of tea and biscuits, they may wish to attend. Grunge also mentioned that next Tuesday we will be hosting the big Goat-Rabbit convergence here in BC. Please come out and let’s give a big welcome to our Goat brothers. Planned on speaking about Breast Cancer Awareness (please remember our brother DOI and keep him in your thoughts and prayers), however, I have been overwhelmed by the constant tragedy we’ve faced over the last few months from Houston, to the Caribbean and Florida, to Puerto Rico, and now Las Vegas. We can never make up for the terrible things that have happened, but in F3 we have a camraderie and openness that makes us feel welcome. Let’s all take that out into the rest of our lives and try and make the world better one small act at a time. Let’s pray that the families of all the victims in Las Vegas can find some sense of peace in all the chaos and tragedy.
