In the aftermath of Carolina’s 35-30 loss to the Bears from California Saturday, seven PAX of course encountered some bear crawls of their own Monday morning at F3 Churham’s weekly Kenan roustabout.
The Thang:
Warmup SSH x 20, squats x 10, windmills x 10, arm circles forward and back x 10, CDD x 10, merkins x 10.
Looking for a new nook of the stadium to exert some pain, YHC thought of the circular ramps that lead from the main concourse to the upper deck. Thus we ran each of the ramps up and took the stairs down on the east and west sides of the elevator shaft up to the Pope Box five rounds total, pausing at the bottom for some combination of standard planks and bows-to-toes planks.
On to the west concourse, where we circled up for planks and LBCs x 20, followed by walking lunges and bear crawls 75 yards to the other side. Then on to the south gate, where we did incline CDD x 10 and decline CDD x 10.
From there we navigated to the east side outside the Blue Zone for three rounds of dips x 12 on the benches and merkins (triangle, wide-grip and regular) x 12 each. From there a one-minute people’s chair and another 75-yard walking lunge/bear crawl combo.
Continuing our way counter-clockwise around the concourse, we snaked the stadium steps for six aisles (three down, three up) and reconvened at the north gate for a round-robin of Mary: flutters, box cutters, boat/canoes, 6-inch holds, Freddie Mercuries and burpees.
Programming note: Next week’s Kenan workout will be overridden by the annual 9/11 Stadium Stairclimb conducted by UNC ROTC, which begins a 0600. More details to come on Slack.
