To be honest I forgot I had the Q this morning. I do remember signing up when I saw the radar thing in the neighborhood thinking that would be an awesome challenge for the PAX, but that was taken down pretty quick. Thanks to the reminder from Flenderson and baseball season just being underway I got another idea pretty easy

WARM-UP

  • Mosey to the traffic circle where I have a baseball infield setup in the grass area
  • Wille Mayes Hayes
  • Arm Circles (forward and reverse)
  • Homerun on deck bat swings one arm at a time
  • SSH OYO until the PAX could name 10 unique baseball movies. — we made it to about 4 before the PAX was smart enough to name Major League 1,2,3 and Bad News Bears 1-8. Well played gentlemen

THE THANG

  • 7 of diamonds — 7 rounds of a certain repetition of exercise at each base, mosey to next base once exercise is complete. Between a few rounds, instead of a 10 count the PAX got to hear random baseball memories from YHC. Legendary stuff I tell ya.
    • Round 1 – 7 burpees at each base
    • Round 2 – 14 LBCs at home, 14 American hammers at 1st, 14 Flutter kicks at 3rd, 14 Peter Parkers at 3rd
    • Round 3 – 21 Merkins at home, 21 Wide grip Merkins at 1st, 21 close grip Merkins at 3rd, 21 Hand Release Merkins at 3rd
    • Round 4 – 28 squats at each base
    • Round 5 – 21 Merkins at home, 21 Wide grip Merkins at 1st, 21 close grip Merkins at 3rd, 21 Hand Release Merkins at 3rd
    • Round 6 – 14 LBCs at home, 14 American hammers at 1st, 14 Flutter kicks at 3rd, 14 Peter Parkers at 3rd
    • Round 7 – 7 burpees at each base
  • Still more time lets do the cycle
    • bear crawl to first, lung walk back to home
    • bear crawl to second, lung walk back to home
    • out of time so we missed the triple and the home run but did one last home run trot around the bases

So the whole pull up bar build I think has been awesome. Not just because of what we did as a group but I got a chance to use it as a teaching lesson for my 2.0 Skyler. When we started building these things he asked me 2 questions, 1) But daddy, you aren’t good at pull ups so why are you doing this? and 2) What do we get out of this? It was cool for me to then be able to teach him there are some things in life you do that just aren’t about yourself. Sometimes you just feel led to do things for the greater good and that speaks for itself. We have a great group of guys in F3 who I think show that all the time. We are blessed for sure so keep doing what you are doing fellas and soon I will get to 3 pullups. Aye!
