It was another beautiful morning in historic Hillsborough. Cars started coming in early from North Durham thanks to the recruiting efforts of Tater Tot. Excitement was in the air as YHC prepared something new for the Pax inspired from the M the week’s activities. The clock struck 5:30am. We counted off with a solid dozen men but expected a baker’s dozen as Tater HC’d mere hours before. We moseyed close by the flag to begin another chapter of the premier Hillsborough AO.
Warm Up
Inspired by the tractor trailer parked for a morning delivery at Weaver St, the Pax revved their own engines to get the juices flowing:
- SSH (10x)
- Overhead clappers (10x)
- Proper Squat (10x)
- Merkins (10x)
The Thang
Still at 12, the Pax moseyed to the corner of Churton and Nash & Kollock. YHC channeled his quick story telling skills to inform the men that he had agreed to build a toy box this week from the urging of his M. However the acceptance came during a night out that involved a Moscow Mule or two. Thus, this would be a special Moscow Mule Mile Q! The concept was simple, partner carry a mile around Hillsborough while stopping at various points for…..Russian Hammers of course!
Stop 1: Fire Department (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 2: Old Courthouse (20 Russian Hammers)
Stop 3: King St Alley (25 Russian Hammers)
Stop 4: King/Cameron Intersection (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 5: Cameron/Margeret Intersection (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 6: District Attorney Flag Pole (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 7: Famer’s Market Shelter (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 8: Riverwalk Hill- we took a break from Russian Hammers and completed a Quarter Pounder exercise utilizing the 4 cones that YHC had placed on the hill earlier, the Pax completed the following:
-Cone 1 Bear crawl up and reverse bear crawl (Russian Hammers until the six arrived)
-Cone 2 Bunny hops up and reverse hops back
-Cone 3 Gorilla crawls up and reverse gorilla crawls back
-Cone 4 Sprint and reverse back

After the quarter pounder exercise was complete, YHC reminded the Pax that the Q sheet was pinned on the Slack channel during the moans of reverse gorilla hops. Then we went back to our Moscow Mule Mile!
Stop 9: Riverwalk bridge (15 Russian Hammers)
Stop 10: Riverwalk entrance (15 Russian Hammers)
Mary
It was time to celebrate a successful Moscow Mule Mile and continue the alliteration with some Mary. It was brief and amazing:
- Box cutters (10x)
- LBCs (10x)
- Scissors (10x)
- Ring of fire with plank holds and around the circle squat jumps (reverse directions 3x around the circle)
- Ring of fire with low plank hold
COT
- Announcement of Gibson playing at the Hot Tin Roof on Aug 17th
- Prayers for Funny Money’s family friends who tragically lost their 10 yr old child who drowned recently
Moleskin
By the end of the workout, we actually did achieve a baker’s dozen with a final count of 13! However, it was not Tater Tot fulfilling his HC, but rather Chitlin who was in his office in Hillsborough and heard the cadence count and was motivated to join in on the Moscow Mule Mile! Epic morning with epic men. And the toy box was finally finished.
