4 PAX came running in from some Murph training.
10 PAX circled up at 5:30 sharp to warm up with SSH, WMH, forward arm circles, reverse arm circles, seal claps and overhead claps.
YHC had a plan for the day and was going to do some trivia about when TheThicket was started. Quiz the current site Qs (Quicken and Maraschino) about who started TheThicket, quiz the starting site Qs (Marky Mark, Yanni) about what Month/Day TheThicket was started, quiz another old site Q (Splashback) about the year TheThicket started and have some penalty exercises to really get in the moment. After circling up and looking around Quicken is the only one present. So after some guesses, interjections by Rebar we found out that Yanni/Marky Mark founded TheThicket on 8/1/2016 while we did some Burpees and Merkins alone the way.
We mosied around the back of the school and broke up into three groups. 1 group was running around the school, 1 group was doing dips/step ups and the 3 group was doing wall sits/B2W. After 2 rounds everyone grabbed bricks to enhance the fun for several more rounds.
A mosey to the field led us to a sprint workout with high knees, butt kickers, 2 warm up sprints and 2 all out sprints. Obviously a sprint workout is not complete without a bear crawl and crab walk section so we did one of those.
We circled up around a mysterious shovel flag on the otherside of the fields for some Mary
Mary – Yes/No/Maybes, flutters, LBCs, B&Ts ring of fire, Supermans.
The new shovel flag was presented to Quicken. The shovel flag idea stemmed from the Paradise/TheThicket competition where I gave Quicken/Maraschino a hard time for not having a real site because they didn’t have a shovel flag. Rambler had an extra lying around so I painted it green, had some letters and the BC symbol printed out of vinyl and decorated it up (trying to apply a vinyl cutout like the BC logo to the shovel head is a complete PITA and not recommended for anyone to attempt). Unfortunately there is not much room after Maraschino/Quickens names on the shovel handle so they will have to continue to lead TheThicket forever and ever.
