The Thang: The 12 burpees of Christmas
The workout was designed to follow the outline of the famous 12 days of Christmas song with new presents each day counting up to 12. The ‘presents’ the Q was offering came in the form of burpees.
Day1: 1x Donkey Kick Burpee
Day2: 2x Star jump Burpees
Day3: 3x Double Secret Burpees
Day4: 4x Tuck Jump Burpees
Day5: 5x Diamond Burpees
Day6: 6x PlankJack Burpees
Day7: 7x 360 Burpees
Day8: 8x X-men Burpees
Day9: 9x Mountain Climber Burpees
Day10: 10x Single leg Burpees
Day11: 11x No Merkin Burpee
Day12: 12x Standard Burpee
If time permitted and we completed all rounds we would have completed 364 total burpees. However day 12 had to be cut short so the official burpee count was 342 (not counting the 5 warmup burpees). Some Pax did more (a group of hardcore Pax did some post credit burpees for completionist sake) some did less, but all agreed that burpees can be fun.
There was a small amount of grumbling that the Q was not singing enough to make the workout ‘festive’. Eventually the mumble chatter moved out to bigger and better discussions of the real life historical events that Die Hard the movie was based on. Floyd’s translation of “adios MF’er” into Hebrew was quite impressive.
Mary:
RedOctober led the Pax in flutter kicks to the tune of a nice easy 60.
COT: Prayers for support for family members that are stressed due to end of semester/year work and to remind the family to be supportive. Also Boucher praised the F3 Churham Pax for their generosity in raising $1000 in a day to support front line healthcare workers that are still dealing with Covid surges.
