11/10/2022 Tobacco Road – Home Alone, Area Codes, and Sesame Street

November 10, 2022

WHEN: 11/10/2022
QIC: Hutz
PAX: Awesome Baby, Bellhop, Boucher, Cherry Baked, Cosmo, Count Chocula, Fix It, Floyd, Hammer Time, Jazz Brunch, Kia, Knope, Max Power, My Little Pony, Pallino, Scapula, Weed n’ Feed
ME HEADCOUNT: 18

Today was YHC's first chance to Q at Tobacco Road, one of the best AOs in F3 Churham, nay, F3 worldwide! I pulled up to Startex and saw an incredible mixture of SoDu legends (Cosmo, Floyd, Scapula, Pallino), rookie HIMs (Jazz Brunch, Hammer Time) and everything in between. Needless to say, this got me totally stoked before Warmarama even began.

I looked at my watch and it read 6:32. My watch is a free spirit that refuses to change for daylight savings and, coupled with the two minute time zone difference between Audubon Park and Tobacco Road, that meant it was time to get started. With the obligatory disclaimer, we began.

THE MAIN EVENT
We moseyed over to right sideline benches on the soccer field. On November 10, 1990, Home Alone premiered. In honor of this historic piece of cinema, we did some exercises and YHC promised to leave no PAX Home Alone. YHC then realized that with the spectacular showing of 18 PAX, we couldn't all fit onto a single bench, so we had to split into two groups. I pulled a Mr. McAllister and left one group Home Alone. While this was a heartbreaking event for YHC and a breaking of my promise that I made 30 seconds ago, it gave a lot of the newer PAX a chance to lead a group with Jazz Brunch, Fix It, and Hammer Time taking the lead on counting duties and staving off the Sticky Bandits.

Ierkins
There were two theatrical sequels to Home Alone, so we did two more sets of the Dips, Merkins, and Ierkins. The first round we did 11 of each exercise, second round 10, and third round 22.

We moseyed to the center of the field aka Burpee Island. On November 10, 1951, the first phone call using area codes was completed. The area code serving Durham is 919, so we did three sets of burpees to honor our area code.

There actually were 6(!) Home Alone movies. Home Alones (or is it Homes Alone?) 4, 5, and 6 were so great that they went straight to video. In honor of these masterpieces, we did three more rounds of exercises.

Johnny Dramas
The first round we did 11 of each exercise, the second round 10, and the third round 22.

We moseyed back to Burpee Island because there is a second area code that serves Durham, 984. Many PAX were ruing the fact that Durham did not have an area code of 000.5 or 000 or -100 and wanted the name, address, and phone number of the area code decider to formally voice a complaint. Until then, we did 9 burpees, then 8 burpees, and then 4 burpees. Further, I'm not sure how to do half a burpee or negative burpees. Maybe Weed n' Feed can add those to the Vexicon.

Mosey over to the brick house. On November 10, 1969, Sesame Street premiered. In honor of Sesame Street, we did some exercises.
People's Chair in honor of the Count. We did a "line of fire" where every PAX counted to 10.
Balls to the Wall in honor of Elmo because the wall gives us a little tickle (a la Tickle Me Elmo).
Chicken Peckers in honor of Big Bird and, at this point, Sesame Street was tarnished in many a PAX's mind.

After thoroughly ruining everyone's childhood memories of a beloved institution, we slow moseyed back to startex for Mary.

MARY

Mountain climbers x22 in cadence
Inchworm to Downward Dog to Cobra to Downward Dog to Inchworm

After the final inchworm, my watch read 7:17, which seemed like the perfect time for name-o-rama and COT.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Kia asked the PAX on behalf of Mr. McGiblets about pushing the starting time for Tobacco Road on Thanksgiving day a little later. There was serious mumblechatter going on, but I believe 6 was the time that was settled upon. Boucher asked if it was AM or PM and no answer was submitted by the tribunal. I'm going to guess AM using the inference skills that twenty years of schooling and student debt that not even Joe Biden can forgive have bestowed upon me.

COT
Tomorrow is Veteran's Day and it is important to honor the brave servicemen and women who sacrificed so much to allow us life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Aye!
