09/20/2023 News – September 2023 SLT Meeting

September 24, 2023

WHEN: 09/20/2023
QIC: Knope
PAX: Brotox, Bump Draft, Castaway, Dinghy, Maraschino, Scapula, Vice
ME HEADCOUNT: 8

This SLT meeting was the end of a long day of F3. We started the meeting in the same way every PAX at the meeting started their day, the 10th Anniversary of Rameses. Our typical meetings start with a story from an SLT member, responding to “Why am I here [F3]?”. This meeting started with a round table of “What was the best thing from this morning?”. This SLT couldn’t speak highly enough about the formal and informal leadership that occurred with over 185 PAX in attendance.

We recapped the past 4 weeks, which gave us much to talk about. The Labor Day convergence at Kenan welcomed over 40 PAX, led by Mueller. The 9/11 stair climb at Kenan was a success, with over 60 PAX in attendance. The F3 portion of the event was led by Lightweight and Right Swipe who were the consummate hosts. With the extended warm up at 0530, we welcomed an FNG, and wrapped up COT on the field at Kenan Stadium. The region has also welcomed in the Iron PAX Challenge this year, with many of our usual suspects leading the nation. So far this month, what is setting us apart is the comprehensive approach the entire region is taking to this national challenge.

With the end of September approaching, October is slated to be just as relentless. Be on the lookout for a challenge from the UNC ROTC as well as a potential Pumpkin Spice Challenge for the month. October 7, will showcase the HIMs of the Circle City with the final Quarterly Report of the year to be held at The Knight (check Slack for more details and sign up). The month rounds out with the 2023 iteration of The Bull, with first year Qs Max Power and Swamp. The Bull will incorporate all three Fs into one event, and there are ample opportunities for PAX to help lead this event, please catch up with Max and Swamp if you’d like to help.

F3 is a leadership organization that creates workouts for men, and the SLT spent the majority of the meeting working on a new opportunity for additional leadership development opportunities throughout Churham. Our intent is to continue developing this plan, finalize it by our October SLT meeting so we can roll it out to each of you. This new leadership initiative has roots not only in the mission of F3 to plant, grow and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership, but also in embracing the balance between our large region’s identity and the small cluster accountability that each of you have established in your corner of the region.

The region, and our community need you as a leader, and we are working to build opportunities for each of you to grow. I welcome all conversations about leadership and ways to serve the men of Churham. If you’ve been in a position for a while and want to pass along your post, please do. If you feel that you’re ready to take a leadership role, talk to me, or any AO Q. We’ve been building a road for you, 43 feet at a time, as our shifts are coming to an end, we welcome the next crew that is ready to tackle the next 43 feet.
