In honor of the glorious Bastille Day, as the absence of magnificent musicals portraying the French Revolution and the audacious storming of the Bastille persists, we, in our fervor, celebrated with a resolute interpretive workout. Through this physical endeavor, we sought to embody the profound themes of Victor Hugo's masterpiece, "Les Misérables," a tale that encompasses the pursuit of redemption and the quest for true freedom by fearlessly confronting our own personal bastilles.
We commenced our endeavor with a spirited warm-up, engaging in Side Shuffle Hops, Mountain Climbers, Arm Circles, and Manafort Good Mornings. With Homes leading us on a warm-up lap, our collective energy coalesced within the confines of the hockey rink, a makeshift stage for our symbolic journey.
As we cast our gaze downward, assuming the steadfast Plank position, we found solace in the rhythmic cadence of right hand up, left hand up, and Merkins on the command of "Down," seamlessly transitioning into a reverse plank.
In partnerships, one valiant comrade diligently exercised in place, while the other embarked on a traveling exercise. Upon the traveler's return, the roles were exchanged, forging bonds of camaraderie amidst our shared pursuit.
Guided by the ethereal strains of "What Have I Done," we delved deep into introspection, seeking absolution as we engaged in the arduous yet transformative bear crawl and performing absolutions.
The melodies of "End of the Day" propelled us forward, skipping with high knees and executing pickle pointers, embodying the indomitable spirit of perseverance.
As the triumphant notes of "Confrontation" reverberated through the air, we summoned our strength, shuffling to the side of the rink and back, adopting the tenacity and pugilism of Nolan Ryan himself.
With "Master of the House" as our anthem, we embarked on a journey of traveling burpees and deep thrusters, epitomizing the relentless pursuit of excellence.
The passionate chords of "rouge et noir" ignited a fire within our souls, and we humbly surrendered ourselves to the French exercise of surrender, embracing the humility required for growth. With hearts pounding in unison, we embraced the spirit of rebellion, channeling the irrepressible Bernie Sanders as we retreated/regressed over and over and over.
In the crescendo of "One Day More," we leapt with joy, engaging in monkey jumpers and gallantly marching forward with the weight of the world on our shoulders, akin to mighty gorillas.
And in a poignant moment of reflection, we embraced the somber echoes of "レ・ミゼラブル「カフェソング 空の椅子とテーブル」柴田泰孝" seeking solace within the communal embrace of the people's chair, a symbol of unity and shared purpose.
As the grand finale approached, no celebration of the French could be complete without paying homage to Kanye West's lyrical tribute to Paris. Thus, we embarked on a triumphant journey of lunge walks and tin soldiers, reveling in the collective spirit of determination and resilience.
Finally, we concluded our odyssey with a series of exercises on our six, a moment of respite and introspection. LBCs, Hello Dollys, Reverse Crunches, and Box Cutters merged into a harmonious symphony of strength, reinforcing our commitment to self-improvement and personal growth.
In the closing moments of our gathering, we gathered for a moment of reflection. In the spirit of Victor Hugo's timeless wisdom, we acknowledged that each of us faces our own personal bastilles. Be it shyness, lack of education, or even the imposing AO that challenges us both physically and mentally, we steadfastly affirmed our collective ability to conquer these internal fortresses. With resolute determination, we declared our readiness to storm these bastilles, embracing our own liberation in the process.
In the spirit of Les Misérables and the spirit of revolution, we bid adieu, empowered and emboldened by our shared journey. May the echoes of our noble efforts reverberate through time, inspiring others to confront their own bastilles and seize the freedom that awaits them. Vive la F3.
