The British F1 Grand Prix is this Sunday so six PAXs decided to take a few laps and celebrate the British drivers in the race this weekend.

After the standard warm ups at the library, YHC gave an overview/ introduction to the workout.
There are three British drivers in this weekend’s race: Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris, and George Russell.
During a F1 race when the teams need to bring in a car for any reason to the pit lane, they say, “box, box” to the driver via the radio system. This then causes the driver to stop and the pit crew gets to work.
While we were moseying this morning, if YHC called out, “box, box”- we stopped and headed into the pit lane. Lando Norris’ car is #4 so in his honor- we did 4 burpees at each pit stop. As Coxswain correctly noted- we pitted many more times than an actual F1 team would during a race.

Lewis Hamilton has won this race 8 times and the world championship 7 times. His car’s number is #44.
We were running short on time so we celebrated his championship wins by stopping 7 times to do 44 repetitions of the following exercises: Merkin, SSH, LBC, Squat, Shoulder tap, Single leg lunge, and dips.

George Russell’s car number is #63 so between each set of the above we did a 63 second plank hold.

After the race was concluded, we found ourselves back at the library and did some Mary that consisted of heals to heaven and a five count ring of fire SuperMan.

The other HUGE announcement is Nails is still in country and if you missed his first going away post at Devils Ridge, I think he will be making the rounds basking in the love and adoration from the various AOs. This guy is going to have more fairwell tours than a 70s rock band. However, it’s good to have him back.
