After a quick warm up (SSH, imperial walker, Willie Mays Hayes) the PAX headed out to the booker creek trail. It was a nice cool late spring morning on a flat trail through the old growth forest of the booker creek neighborhood. We continued on along Booker Creek road and made our way up south lake shore lane, where our elevation warm up began. After connecting to Honeysuckle and turning up Brookview, we made it to the main event of the route; Kenmore aka the good hill. For those that know, this is one of the steeper hills in Chapel hill, and thankfully not terribly long. The PAX powered through this challenge and we’re rewarded with a nice flat into a decline to catch their breath. After regrouping we worked through the Cedar falls neighborhood, reaching the summit of our route at the top of Cedar Falls circle (a sneaky hill that starts nice and gradual before a turn takes you up a short punchy climb). From here we descended back down along Brookview, climbed our final hill up Honeysuckle before turning on Booker Creek road and returning to the Booker Creek Trail back to the AO.
