A joke for spring: April showers bring May flowers. And what do May flowers bring? Pilgrims.

Slangin' season -or- "slangin' szn" is vernacular for the time of year when Ultimate Frisbee enthusiasts want to be outdoors at all hours. Fittingly, I wanted the PAX of Kenan to get some significant sprint-work in, as I will soon be chasing frisbees on Hooker Fields relentlessly for the next couple of weeks.

Today, at the spring equinox, the industrious PAX of Kenan decided to get ahead of the 12 hours of daylight by getting out on the football field for some team relay-races, as well as a few sprints.

Warm-a-rama:
SSH, Imperial Walker, WMH, Mountain-climbers, 10x slow Merkans, Seal claps, overhead claps, forward arm-circles, reverse arm-circles

The Main Event:
13 PAX lined up on the side-line of the football field spaced 3 yards apart. PAX on the goal-line bear-crawled to the front of the line, while the Pax at the 36 yard-line called out Squats. The line slowly shifted down the field until a PAX reached the end-zone. PAX returned in similar fashion except the method of travel was an "all you got" sprint while the other 12 PAX completed merkans.
All PAX took a slow fellowship lap around the football field.
PAX lined up on the goal-line and completed broad-jumps to the opposite end-zone. Every 10-yards, pax completed 2 alternating lunge-jumps more than at the previous 10-yard line.
Pax completed 4, 100-yard sprints with increasing difficulty. First sprint included a jog to the 30-yard line before acceleration to "all you got". 2nd sprint involved a jog to the 20-yard line. 3rd sprint involved a jog to the 10-yard line. Final sprint was 100 yards.

Cool-down:
Flutter-kicks, Side-lying leg-raises with toes pointed parallel, inferior and superior, Ring-of-fire shoulder taps.

Announcements:
Run for Malawi coming up in late April. Great time to sign-up and train.

COT:
Matthew 6: 26-34 has been a great encouragement to me recently. I've felt great worry with a few things going on in my life recently. I've also felt great comfort in knowing that I can BOTH be present in my current situations, strive to love my neighbors, friends, and family members, as well as try to glorify God in these hard moments, AND not surrender to anxiety or fear of the future. Anxiety has not added an hour to my life. I want to encourage all PAX feeling anxiety or worry to rest in support from one another and the Lord, even when situations may be very hard.
