Like a Boss

11 PAX rolled in hot for a Floyd-style beatdown. One PAX, MARTA decided to rock his 45 pound ruck for the entire event, so props for that. YHC had been to the Orange County Line only once before, but one thing struck me that first time….the big steep hill at the entrance to the school. I told myself then that if I ever Q’d this site, I would work that hill. And I’d like to think that is just what we did today.

Warm-Up:
SSH x 40 (we were going to stop at 20, but two unnamed PAX rolled in a bit late, so we kept shuffling until they joined us.

At this point, I commented that perhaps the PAX noticed that we hadn’t done any merkins, mountain climbers or burpees in the warm-up and that was for a good reason. I heard one mumblechatter in the back “This can’t be good.” It wasn’t.

The THANG: The Boss.
Most of us are familiar with the standard F3 Beast. The Boss is a twist on that. Eight cones, 10 exercises per cone, 10 reps for a total of 800 reps. PAX travelled up the hill, stopping at each cone and exercising. Once all 80 reps had been done, run back down to the bottom. At the bottom was a very special cone called the Boss cone. PAX had the option of holding a plank-like position or being a Boss and knocking out another 10 reps for a total of 900 reps. Several PAX did it, several PAX chose not to, and that was ok.

Set 1: Merkins x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. Plank it out or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 2: Airsquats x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. Squat hold or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 3: LBCs x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. 6″ leg raise or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 4: Plank jacks x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. Plank it out or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 5: Carolina Dry Dock x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. High Plank it out or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 6: Jump Lunges x 10 (each leg) x 8 = 80 reps. Low squat or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 7: Flutter kicks x 10 (each leg) x 8 = 80 reps. 6″ leg raise or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 8: Mountain Climbers x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. Plank it out or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 9: Russian Hammers x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. 6″ leg raise or go to the Boss cone when done.
Set 10: Merkins x 10 x 8 = 80 reps. PAX had the option of doing the Merkin Medley: regular, wide grip, diamond, EKG and repeated. Plank it out or go to the Boss cone when done.

Total reps: 800 Total reps. If you were a BOSS, 900.
