Knope asked and after a little rearranging with the schedule YHC had the Q for the first time in downtown Durham. It was my first post downtown so showed up a few minutes early to get the lay of the land and … who would have thought there are significantly more cars in Durham at this hour than in the Northern Province. Unsure on how moving thru traffic may go for an unknown number of PAX modifications were made to the loose plan that was in place (on an index card). 

YHC was joined by 8 other PAX (no FNGs) quick introduction of “the plan”: Bring a little bit of Hillsborough to Durham this morning.

Warm up

The Thang – Part 1: Parking Deck (ode to Duck and Weave) 

  • Each round would consist of a Leg, Arm and Ab exercise
  • Round 1: Line Jumps, Derkins, Ski Abs
  • Round 2: Run up stairs of parking deck across top down stairs on other side, Dry Docks, Freddie Mercuries
  • Round 3: Johnny Dramas, Erkins, Plank Jacks
  • Round 4: Parking deck stairs again … 10 count and move on

Part 2: The Wall (ode to The Rock)

  • Mosey to the Brick wall adjacent to parking lot
  • 9 PAX so we did 9 count down the line of :
  • People’s chair
  • BTTW
  • London bridges (IC) 10 ish – special disclaimer here “Don’t hit your face”
  • Dwight Howard’s x 15

Part 3: Cinderblocks and Parking lot (ode to The Skunk)

Many of the Hillsborough PAX completed Iron PAX this year (and last). This was YHCs attempt to share the cinderblocks with the PAX in downtown .

Farmers carry 2 cinderblocks from one end of parking lot and back (Timer) call exercise for rest of PAX.

  • Squats, Burpees, LBCs, wide grip merkins, worlds worst merkins, superman (opposite arm/leg) were among the exercises called

Week 4 of Iron PAX involved carrying cinderblocks for an incredible distance, YHC wanted to impart the wisdom of the Backpack carry so after a quick demonstration this became our timer around the parking lot while each PAX called out an exercise

  • Line Jumps, True Americans, squats, flutters, plank jacks, plank, Johnny dramas were among the exercises called
