Very “Serious” Arm Injury

July 13, 2017

WHEN: 07/13/2017
QIC: Tater Tot
PAX: Banjo (welcome from Carpex!), Riggs, Snowman, Te’o, Bushwood, Juco, Mr. Brady, Crockett, Amphibious , Funny Money, Tater Hole (welcome from Hickory!), and Tater Tot

Injury: A few days ago, YHC was reaching for a reheated sandwich out of the oven (a #47 for you Jersey Mike’s aficionados – get the giant and save half for later) and YHC burned my arm slightly on the side of the oven. It’s a very serious injury, YHC has told the M multiple times that chores around the house are just too much at this point while recovering with this 2 inch scab on YHC’s arm. That said – the wound is healing nicely (almost Wolverine-like, as if YHC was a mutant. YHC get’s confused for Hugh Jackman CONSTANTLY), but it got itchy yesterday and YHC accidentally busted a scab and needed a bandaid. The 2.1 was very excited to help get YHC covered and selected an Iron Man bandaid from the 1,000s of choices the 2.0’s have. (The looks and healing factor of Hugh Jackman, the sassy attitude and brains of Robert Downey Jr; you can see, dear reader, why YHC is has got it all figured out). Anyway, with the bandaid in place and YHC’s health in mind, its best that we don’t do any work above the core today, keep it all legs!

We had 2 EC Ruckers and yes, they went to the pull up bars.

Note: YHC had a Weinke for today’s efforts. Apparently having a well written plan (very good penmanship, calligraphy-like lettering, beautifully hand-crafted) is frowned upon by some PAX jabronis. Well, if having a Weinke is wrong, YHC doesn’t wanna be right. Like YHC’s grandfather always said of his time under Patton in WW2 “Live by the Weinke, die by the Weinke.”

Warm Up
SSH, Willie Mays Hayes, Arm Circles, Imperial Walkers, Mtn Climbers
Mumble Chatter Level – 4/10

The Thang
Round 1 – 10 minutes
squats – 20
bunny hop to grass
squats – 20
bunny hop back
squats – 20
repeato until time is up
The group split in 2, some going to the gate first, some to the grass. Mumble Chatter Level – 6/10. YHC gladly announced that time was crawling and made sure that everyone knew after 3 rounds or so, it had only been 3 minutes. Like gasoline to a fire, that brought up the mumblechatter level.

“Break”
Homer to marge – 10
box cutters – 10
flutters – 20
repeato
Mumble Chatter level 9/10. Really good work from the PAX at this point. I don’t mean physically, not at all, they were yakking away like trained professionals.

Round 2 – 10 minutes
squats – 20
run to grass
squats – 20
run back
squats – 20
repeato until time is up
This round, YHC felt the need to make sure to get time with the group that went gate-first. Just to check in with them, ask how their lives are, how they are doing as fathers, brothers, sons, leaders, etc. You know, really dig in with them and make them feel valued. Alas, YHC was wrong, they’re still NERDS. Mumble Chatter Level 7/10

“Break”
wall sits – on for 1 min
10 count break
left leg, right leg rotation
Mumble Chatter Level 8/10

Round 3 – Circle Up as a group
squats in cadence – 40
Mumble Chatter Level 5/10. It really dropped here PAX, very surprised that YHC finally broke you all.

Mary –
LBC – 25
Freddy Mercury – 20
Russian Hammer – 20
Nevermind, Mumble Chatter Level 8/10. YHC guesses that the PAX was saving it’s energy for the last big push.

Great work today PAX.

COT –
Prayers for Daffny (Nurse that works with Riggs) who just found out she has pretty serious cancer and for Yukon Cornelius – dealing with issues with his daughter.
Moleskin – YHC’s birthday was the other day. I’m thankful for F3’s consistency and being there every day. It’s a good challenge to have daily and YHC loves the reason to get up early.
