Ultimate Fun

July 1, 2019

WHEN: 07/01/2019
QIC: Cortés
PAX: Amelia, Brick, Buffay, Halfback, Nubbin, Pusher, Virgo, Slice and Dice, Toast McQueen, Nickelback

YHC signed up for the Q a month ago but it has been quite the week. Wanting to keep the Q but YHC felt the need to inject a little fun. 11 PAX strong this morning 5:30, Let’s Go!

Warm Up

  • WMH (IC)
  • Good Morning (IC)
  • LBAC(IC) then Reverse
  • 2.5 x run to the bottom of the hill near the bridge and back (Ending at the bridge)
  • Tunnel of love, bear crawl under plank hold across the bridge, each PAX twice
  • Rickey Bobby to the field

The Thang

Cones were already marking a portion of the field, PAX lined up along one end of the soccer field, run to the far end and remember your order of finish (1-11). Spilt up Odds and Evens these were the teams for Ultimate Frisbee with a F3 twist.

  • Rules:
    • Each turnover everyone dropped for 2 merkins before play could continue.
    • Each score: the scoring team 15 air squats, scored upon team 5 burpees.

Lots of merkins completed by all. Odds were up 2 scores to 1 with ~5 min left, when YHC picked a random number 1-6 and had odds count off, #3 (Virgo) now switched teams so the Evens got a little time with the man advantage. Time called final Score Odds 2 Evens 3. Virgo was the MVP today. Mosey to the parking lot for quick Mary.

Mary

Russian Hammers (IC) x 25 – Thats it TIME!

COT/Prayers request

  • Brick and M are traveling abroad, prayers for safety during their travels
  • Nubbin’s family is traveling out west and he is headed to Boston, prayers for safe travels
  • Halfback has been on the shelf for 2 weeks with injury, glad to see him back. He shared “it is better to come out and do what you can but be smart so you don’t have to miss time”, with a good reminder to modify as needed and not push yourself to injury.
  • My family as it has been one week since my father in law passed and still lots of adjustments in our daily lives.
  • Toast McQueen took us out.

NMS

Thank you all for your kind words, it is hard to lose a family member and I have found it even harder to watch my M lose her own father. What a void he has left in our lives but specifically in her life. I promised him that I would take care of her and his family many years ago but it holds far more gravity today. I plan to keep coming out to try and maintain some bit of normal but there are days that are hard and I have no answers. Keep checking on your brothers and loving on your families. Aye. SYITG.
