Total Feud Domination

October 7, 2017

WHEN: 10/06/2017
QIC: Floyd
PAX: Misery, Shake It, 2Ply, Sawtooth, Driftwood, Pedialyte, Looney, Shovel, Floyd, Peppermint Patty, Doogie, Cooter, Prancing Horse, My Little Pony, Peach, The Exchange, Snots, Knope, Beano, Porterhouse

5 PAX got in some man-making EC and with how beat down they looked when YHC rolled in fresh at 0530, YHC was glad he had fartsacked a bit.

20 PAX (no FNGs) circled up in the brisk morning gloom at Jordan High for a little Falcon action. YHC is working on his Master Q achievement and is currently 16/25 different AO Q’s. Today would mark 17 on this honorable quest.

Warm-up:
SSH x 25
Hillbillys x 15
Windmills x 10
Arm Circles x 10
Reverse Arm Circles x 10
Mountain Climbers x 20
Calf Stretches
Willie Mayes Hayes x 10

Fellowship run around the big loop down Garret Road around the soccer field.
Stop at the first corner, 10 Burpees OYO
Run to the next corner, 10 Burpees OYO
Run to the final corner, 10 Burpees OYO

The THANG:
Partner up. The gist is that you bear crawl up the hill and around the traffic circle and back down. Your partner runs it and when he has completed a lap and caught back up with the bear crawler, they switch. In general, it took 4 laps of running (2 laps each partner) to complete.

At the bottom, plank it out and wait for everyone to finish. While planking, do right arm up, regular, low plank, left arm up, etc.

Intermission: Jack Webbs
This is the standard merkin pyramid with corresponding air presses in between merkin sets.
1 Merkin, 1 air press
2 Merkins, 2 air presses
3 Merkins, 3 air presses
ETC ETC ETC…
9 Merkins, 9 air presses
10 Merkins, 10 air presses

2nd Half:
Partner up again (new partner this time). The same concept of partner laps applies as above, except instead of bear crawling, this lap is walking lunge. There were many audible breaths of relief when this was announced. Interestingly, it took just as long and just as many laps of running (4) as the bear crawl.

Plank it out at the bottom and wait for everyone to finish, again with different plank positions called out by YHC.

Intermission #2: Family Feud.
Everyone splits into two groups of 10 and lines up facing each other. One by one a PAX from each team would face off against each other for a quick round of rock, paper, scissors. The stakes were called out with the winning team having to do 50% less work than the losing team. Everyone got to participate in a round for a total of 10 rounds.

Rd 1: Winner 5 Merkins, Loser 10 Merkins
Rd 2: Same thing
Rd 3: Winner 5 Burpees, Loser 10 Burpees
Rd 4: Same thing.
Rd 5: Winner 10 Carolina Dry Docks, Loser 20 CDD
Rd 6: Same thing
Rd 7: Winner 10 donkey kicks, Loser 20 donkey kicks
Rd 8: Same thing
Rd 9: Winner 10 WWII situps, Loser 20 WWII situps
Rd 10: Winner 10 Air Squats, Loser 20 Air squats

Now as an aside, when planning a Q, sometimes you have control of how many reps people do. Sometimes you pick an activity that has an element of chance (like dice workout or cards). This particular workout had the possibility that one team would do a lot more reps than the other, but I had convinced myself that most likely there would be a 60/40 split, and ideally a 50/50 split.

WRONG.

For reasons I cannot explain, one team completely dominated the other winning 8 out of 10 rounds of RPS. It was pretty demoralizing for the losing team who not only had to do twice as many reps, but also had to endure an endless stream of taunting from the winners. Shake It has asked that I provide a round by round account of who faced who and what RPS they threw. Obviously, I can’t give that info. Mostly because I was on the losing team and was getting smoked.

Mosey back up to the breezeway for Mary:
