EC today consisted of kettlebell swings, goblet squats, and turkish get-ups. We did 100 of the first two, respectively, and then did ten TGUs. We finished with 50 single-arm KB swings. YHC is hoping to make KB an EC tradition at TBD. It”s great for getting your metabolism going and is one of those workouts where you reach a boiling point: at first you don”t realize how hard it is, but once you reach that boiling point, your cup runneth over with pain. 3 PAX joined this madness. A specific shout out to Choo Choo who had to be at work at 0530 and decided to spend 30 minutes with us swinging out our sorrows. Let”s hope we”ll need more KBs for more PAX in the future!
The main event was a tennis court four corner extravaganza. Sweater vest told YHC last week that the tennis courts at TBD gave him nightmares, and who am I to deny a man his nightmares. Did I say nightmares? I meant dreams. Anyway, here”s how it went down after your usual warm up.
First round: two tennis courts (there are four at TBD, so we did a different length each time)
Bear crawl the baselines, lunge walk the sidelines, 20 burpees at each of the four corners (80 total)
Second round: four tennis courts
Bunny hop the baselines, crab walk the sidelines. 30 jump lunges at each of the four corners (120 total)
Third round: three tennis courts
Frog jump the baselines, crawl bear the sidelines. 25 merkins at each of the four corners (100 total)
Fourth round: 1 tennis court
Sideways squat all the way around the tennis court (stand in square stance, then extend leg, squat, then come back up to square stance and advance). 25 squats at each of the four corners (100 total)
Mary: 6 inch leg hold with arms extended straight above for 1 minute.
Most PAX, including YHC, were ten toes up at the end of this bad boy, on our six staring at the stars. So I think this was a good one!
CoT: Prayers to Falwell”s best friend”s family, whose mother just passed away.
Moleskine: We are still collecting new and unwrapped presents this week for Duke and UNC children”s hospitals. Please drop off your presents with your site Q this week, or attend Falcon and/or TBL and give to Assisi.
