The parking lot at Hooker Fields was closed down for the big game today, so there was a bit of a scramble to get things started. But everyone found a spot and hustled in an only slightly delayed kick off.

This is something my yoga teacher showed me and something that I have committed to doing for 5 minutes each day in March. Here is a video showing the general idea, although our execution was far more graceful. Catskill was looking particularly light on his feet.

ME:
TBR TBR

Tin Soldiers x 20
Burpees x 20
Russian hammer x 20

Tunnel of love
Bolt 45s x 20
Random

We ran about 50 yards between each exercise, making it around the 400 meter track just in time to start again from the top. Each lap we dropped down by 2 reps.

All exercises, except burpees, were done in cadence. For the Bolt 45s, this means A LOT of squats.

Our random exercises were called out by PAX. We did Smurf Jacks, Peter Parkers, WWIIs, and 8 count body builders.

We made it through 20, 18, 16, and 14. With just enough time for 55 flutter kicks.

Months ago, Uzi casually mentioned that being able to do 50 flutter kicks is a good goal. Uzi is correct, and there is no reason to stop there. Red October knocks them out in sets of 100.

Be it Monkey poses or Flutter Kicks, it’s a good idea to have a monthly goal to keep you focused.

COT/Announcements
It’s great to have so many out for EC. Although we may need to change the name given that it is twice as long as a standard F3 ME. EC doesn’t seem to do justice.

Smalls is with us from Atlanta to support his father, Bill, who just had brain surgery. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and the strength to push through chemo.

The weather is getting warmer. The days are getting longer. The PAX are getting stronger. What will we do with our extra hours of daylight and our extra vitality? Hopefully, we will give our attention where it is needed and where it is likely to bear fruit, always looking to engage rather than escape.
