Tuesday May 29th was the target date for the BC Murph, and the growing Murph crew anticipated this date and trained for it for the past six months. The group doubled in size from the BC half year Murph, which stood at 6. The 12 HCs meant 2 groups would go off, a 0500 and a 0530. The conditions were wet after a night of rain, and the 0500 group was greeted by a downpour right at launch.
The effort this morning was amazing and the times showed it.
The Thang:
The Murph consists of the following exercises in order, all while wearing a 20lb vest.
1 Mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 Mile Run
The Groups were as follows:
Group 1 (0500):
Bright Idea
Grunge
Boyardee
Mumbles (who did it with a ruck on, so his weight was unbalanced, making it more difficult)
Golden Pinky (fighting injury and performing a lower body destroying modification)
Griswold
Group 2 (0530):
Horny Toad
Goat Cheese
RG3
Bunyan
Rambler
Marky Mark
The groups both stretched out a bit on the final runs, finish times ranged from 42 flat, which is insane, to a shade under 50 minutes, which is also great time.
