Panthers vs Titans

The air was a bit cooler this am.  Not much, enough to suggest that Saturdays will be different.   The wait is over.  Its College Football Eve guys.
A crowd of 15 others circled around me as I noted the time and began speaking commands with more uncertainty than backup QB  Matt Sarecen on opening drive.
I proceeded to drop my phone, check my Q list 2-3 times, fumbled through vocal commands, and forgot the names of several exercises.  And we ended a warmup exercise on count 8?  This isn’t as easy as it looks.  You all are gracious and encouraging.
After the warmup we divided into pairs by physical stature size and broke the pairs up into teams.   It was at this point there was serious concern we were going to play tackle football.  I could see it Boyardee’s eyes.   Markymark’s too.
Panthers and Titans
Every pair of PAX alternated through  2 excercises….twice for 6 sets.  To complete the set of two exercises twice.  Whichever team completely finishes first scores a TD.
Warning: apparently doing simple addition to get to a total 2 times…  is hard at this hour, with an accelerated heart rate.

Here was the Coach Taylor approved  game plan:

Warm up:

SSH –  x 20

IMPERIAL WALKER x 15

WILLEY MAYS HAYES x 10

GOOD MORNINGS – x 11 *WRONG NAME*

6 possessions:

Pair up, alternate with partner thru 2 exercises  x 2 times each, All exercises are OYO, don’t move on until both complete a set.

1 – 30 Merkins / 25 squats  … then do it again.

2 – 15 Burpees / Bernie Sanders 40 yds to intersection   ….one more time

3- 25 Dips / 10 Diamond Derkins … do this twice.

5 – Sprint to Corner 100 yds out / Plank … another time also

4- Wall sits (toss partner’s legs while you sit) / 20 Long leg tosses with head btw partners feet . ….two times.

6 – Run Hill 2 times 10 squats at the top / 20 flutter kicks   …4 times up the hill total. (this is when we needed the calculator)


Mary Up: We tossed the old pig skin around and a PAX led an exercise in Mary.

I heard a great quote I need to share w you guys “If you want to go fast go alone.  if you want to go farther, go together.”

I’ve been encouraged by this group keeping me active and motivated to keep going.   I would never show up at 0530 and bear crawl through a parking lot  by myself.   But next to you you jokers its seems .    I think quote applies to more of life as well.   It’s easy to avoid difficult situations, people, or circumstance.  It’s even easy to complain or have a crappy attitude in the midst of what life dishes out.   “if you want to go far go together” applies to less than ideal.   Those hard moments can shape your character and concern for another situation down the road.    Caring for your neighbor in those difficult moments or leaning into a co-worker with a terrible attitude to serve rather than be served is gonna take you farther down the road to who you are called to be.   Until next time…
