See you in the…Fog?

Heavy fog obscured Hillandale Elementary, making it difficult for YHC to scout the area prior to the main event. Having Qd here before a couple of times, I know the general layout, but with the fog I don’t think I could see more than 10 feet in front of me. So we decided to stay put in the parking lot and do our rocking and rolling in about a 100 yard radius. The fog wasn’t the only thing weighing heavy on me this morning, as I learned upon waking that Cheesesplint had a car accident last night (everyone is OK but banged up a bit). I don’t have all the details, but please reach out to him if you can to offer support.

Reminder after reminder comes through demanding that we stay in the moment, take nothing for granted, and be thankful for our many blessings. I chose to keep it simple and straightforward today and dedicated my energy to Cheese’s recovery. In this spirit, I offer my gratitude this morning: to Soda, who invited me to Q (other site Qs take note); to F3, which keeps me grounded and healthy, and to the men who posted today, thank you for making my morning special; and to my family, who offer love and support and meaning in a world that often doesn’t make much sense.

In the spirit of Cheese I offer a cheesy metaphor for your reading pleasure: The fog will always be there. Knowing your plan and what you want to accomplish is all that matters. Expect things to obscure your purpose and destination from time to time, but keep working towards what matters to you. Put another way, make sure you can drive without GPS. Rely on what’s internal. That’s the good stuff, the real stuff. Know the terrain better than the computer. Know your goal better than anyone else. Fixate on it and achieve it. That’s what we did today, fog-be-damned!

Here’s what went down:

Four corner escalator: Sprint to corners: 20 merkins; Second corner: 20 merkins, 20 jump squats; 3rd: 20 merkins, 20 jump squats, 20 tuck tumps; 4th: 20 merkins, 20 jump squats, 20 tuck jumps, 20 burpees.

Four corner de-escalator: Backwards run to corners: 20 squats, 20 dry docks, 20 jump lunges, 10 8-count body-builders; eliminate the last exercise all the way back down.

Mosey to the lines where each grade lines up: Ark loader – Bear crawl, crawl bear, crab walk, bunny hop, frog jump, gorilla hop.

Prayers to Forceps, who lost a child, and to Cheesesplint, who was in a car accident with his children in the car (everyone is OK but injuries have been sustained).
