Running Is Not That Bad in Small Doses, Baby!

SoDu PAX are well familiar with YHC’s oft-sung refrain during run-heavy segments of workouts: “Running is bullish*t, baby!” TBH, YHC misses running sometimes, but hip issues often make it difficult if not impossible.

But there is a certain (wink wink) #norunning standard one must uphold at West End, so decided to do a little Carrboro tour that did involve running (OK, moseying) from point to point. Logged a little over 2 miles. A lot of you are thinking, hey any jackass can jog two miles.

Mueller got in some EC pull-ups, Elwood an EC run, and Count Chocula an EC constitutional in the woods, then 8 gathered for a nice long warmup.

THANG

Announced that the first stop would be at my buddy Evan’s house, an old friend who has not yet taken the F3 plunge. He was invited today but declined once again on the grounds that it was too early. So we moseyed to his house about 1/3 of a mile from start point to do 10 burpees and take a selfie.

Apologies to those who got cutoff. YHC notoriously bad at selfies.

Then availed ourselves of the park across the street for 15 derkins, irkins and dips, then 10 more burpees before moseying to Weaver Street.

Found the spongiest astroturf in Churham on the Weaver Street lawn, where we knocked out 10 burpees then some good Mary. Nice controlled WWIIs x 30, Heel touches X 10IC, Homers to Marge with holds and pulses.

Finished with 25 good squats with chests and heads up and butts as low as possible, then 10 burpees, before heading to Farmers Market pavilion.

10 burpees, 25 more squats, 15 more derkins, irkins and dips, bear crawled the field then crab walked back, 25 squats, 10 burpees.

Moseyed back to Weaver Street.

10 burpees, WWIIs x 30, heel touches X 10IC, Homers to Marge with holds and pulses, then a little yoga – walk out to a plank, downward facing dog, swoop into active cobra, back to down dog, cat cow, child’s pose.

Lured some into a false sense of security, as then we did 10 burpees and moseyed back home for

Mueller reminded about Quarterly Report next weekend in Hillsborough. It’s Spring Break next week for CHCCS, so some discussion about whether to move ahead next week or perhaps converge with Animal House. Stay tuned. YHC took us out.
