Revenge of Sisyphus

March 2, 2017

WHEN: 03/02/2017
QIC: Doogie
PAX: Snots, Shake It, Vandelay, Doogie

Sometimes life has a way of making you feel like Sisyphus, the King of Ephyra, who was condemned to roll a massive boulder up a hill, only to have it roll back to the bottom, for all of eternity. The 4 pax who signed up for Churham”s newest AO, The Afterburn, quickly learned what Sisyphus was up against…
The Thang:
Fellowship jog from Bull City Running Co down the ATT to the powerline hills, a series of rolling, quite steep hills set amongst the neighborhoods of Woodcroft. Once we reached the bottom, the idea was simple, run to the top of the hill, and run back. But then turn back around, run up the hill and past it to the bottom of the next, turn around and run back to the start. And then do it again, up down and back up the next hill… and then come back. We went through 4 iterations of this misery at 5k pace.
Once back to the bottom, we moseyed to a 1/4 mile steep incline. Run up 2/3 distance at 5k pace, then hit it all out to the top (to simulate the last push of a race). Back to the bottom and repeato.
Fellowship job (yog, with a soft J) back to BCRC. Distance covered: 4.38 miles
Jacob”s ladder – I”m pretty sure Vandelay wasn”t happy that we were doing merkins… but its Merkin March… gotta catch em all…
Flight of stairs – 1 air squat at the bottom, 10 merkins at the top, 2 AS bottom, 9 M at top…. you know the drill. Total Merkins: 55
Mary: 25 WW2s OYO
COT/stretching
Moleskin
