14 PAX showed up to do their community a service and perform a detailed inspection of the new Morgan Rigsbee Parking Garage. YHC failed to inspect said garage himself prior to planning the Q, so the original plan was scrapped and we modified as necessary. Let’s get to work.

Warmup:

The Thang:

• When we got to the entrance of the deck, YHC and the rest of the PAX peered upward at the gigantic ramp that lay before us. YHC explained that it was our civic duty to inspect the brand new parking garage, and focus on every detail from bottom to top. With a heavy emphasis on modify as necessary, we got to inspecting..
• Parking deck inspection:
  • PAX bear crawl the long ways and crawl bear up the ramp to the next level – scratch that, went with a bear crawl all the way up level 2 to level 3. Pick up the 6. Really emphasized the inspection here. Looks good!
  • Given the nature of the deck (long incline switchbacks of same length with no ramps) we got creative, and tested the next levels for speed…
  • Level 3 to 4: Sprint the flatish length, flip turn and backwards run up the incline. Pick up the six. Once all complete, 20 Merkins SC on the down.
  • Level 4 to Level 5: Repeato sprint and backwards run. Pick up the six. Once all complete, 20 Merkins SC on the down.
  • Level 5 to Level 6: Karaoke the flatish length facing south, make turn facing same direction then up the incline doing more karaoke . Pick up the six. Once all complete, 20 Merkins SC on the down.
  • Take it up a notch and finished with a weight tolerance inspection of the last level..
  • Level 6 to Level 7 (top): Partner carry along the flat, switch and carry up the incline. Pick up the six. Once all complete, 20 Merkins SC on the down.
  • Recover and enjoy the beautiful view of Downtown Durham at sunrise. God is good.
• Mary under the stars/sunrise:

• Stairwell inspection:
  • Last but not least, the PAX finished their inspection of the parking garage with an in depth stair well inspection
  • PAX run to the bottom of the stairwell, wait to clear, and head back up.
  • PAX will knock out 1 burpee to match the floor number all the way up. (run up to level 2, 2 burpees, level 3, 3 burpees, etc.)
  • Running out of time at level 6, we headed back down and moseyed back to City Hall

YHC was pleased with the turnout for Honey Badger this AM. 14 PAX is solid for any AO, but very solid for the HB. Well done men! YHC was also especially happy to see Adolphus in downtown Durham with a FNG! Ray (F3 Krueger) is a tattoo artist that works right across from the new Parking garage, so it was meant to be! YHC had to modify the workout some to account for the layout of the garage itself, but the PAX were kind and flexible so it worked out just fine. Thank you all for what you do to make F3 the positive force that it is. Aye!
