Practice for the solstice

Site Q Jinx attempted a convergence with the Goat and gave the PAX a full day’s notice before the event. Plenty of time! ?? But most BC PAX love the comforts of home so YHC lead a healthy number of PAX along our famous Solstice loop. 9 showed up on time and ready to roll.

Main Event

Today we’d practice our ‘race pace’. PAX were instructed to run the 5mile Solstice loop as follows:

  • 2 miles of warm-up (very generous, I know)
  • 2 miles at their target Solstice 5 mile race pace (goal for the bi-annual race)
  • 1 mile cool-down

YHC reminded the PAX of the power of the second F. Yes, we get it during workout mumblechatter but it’s not the same as connecting with PAX outside of the gloom. Seek out those opportunities. Better yet, make those opportunities happen. Take time away from your responsibilities and get out there for a happy hour or coffee to get to know your gloom-mates a little better. You’ll be happy you did.
