YHC has been looking forward to this day for a month or so. Why? Because #1 I finally had good reason to use my new F3 workout card deck and #2 today is my 3rd Q at this AO this year. That means today is my Patch Day! Awesome idea and incentive by the AO site Q Tater Tot.

The Thang: PAX Poker

The PAX were split into 5 teams (4 teams of 2, 1 team of 3) At the end of the parking deck the cards were placed. Each group sends one member out to retrieve a card. The mode of travel varies (bear crawls, walking lunges, backwards run). The PAX who are not retrieving cards are doing stationary exercises called out by YHC or another appointee.

Once each group has 5 cards, everyone recovers. Each group looks at their hand. The group can decide to fold and do 10 burpees or play. If you play and lose, you do 15 burpees. If you play and win you do no burpees and get to shuffle the cards for the next round. The cards are returned to the pile, shuffled and then we start again.

Round 1:
Bear crawling to the cards while PAX do plank city (regular, low, right arm high, left arm high)

The winning group had a “Full House.” We then did all the exercises on the F3 card faces:
American Hammers x 20
Oblique crunches x 20
Monkey Hummers x 20
Lunges x 20
Calf raises x 100

It turns out later that the “Full House” was actually a bunch of random cards but they had 3 clubs and 2 spades which is NOT a full house. YHC vowed to be better with quality control from that point on. Tater and his partner actually had 2 queens and have a legit beef. They did 15 unnecessary burpees and I encourage them to seek retribution at a later date.

Round 2
Walking Lunge to the cards while stationary PAX hold a squat.

Round 3
Backwards run to the cards while stationary group does 6″ leg raise and various similar movements.

This last round, we didn’t have time to do the deck exercises, so we raised the stakes. 15 burpees for a fold, 20 for a loss and 5 for a win.

Since there were so many ab exercises, we felt that Mary was covered.
