YHC was excited to return to the Big Dance. I tried to rally some Chapel Hill folks to go with me but had no takers. Therefore, I wasn”t sure if it would be a small group or not since I haven”t been to TBD lately but I quickly found out that TBD is the place to be. A few over achievers were slinging metal when I arrived and then the PAX kept rolling in. 23 PAX including 3 FNG”s decided to get stronger today!
Warmup: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Windmills, Mtn Climbers, Thunderstruck (30+ merkins)
The Thang:
Mosey to the playground. 2 PAX are on pull-ups while everyone else planks. Each PAX does 5 pull-ups and the rest do 5 merkins in sync with the pull-ups. Rotate all the way down the line so everyone gets pull-ups. Repeat the pull-ups and substitute WWII”s for the merkins.
Mosey back to the parking lot and circle up for Roxanne. SSH the whole song and do a burpee every time Sting says Roxanne.
Cross the street to the field and lineup on one side. Do 10 burpees, run across and do 2 tuck jumps. Return to start. 9 burpees, run across and do 4 tuck jumps. All the way down to 1 burpee and 20 tuck jumps.
No time for Mary as we had some naming to do. Welcome FNG”s Soybean who hails from the Midwest, Nothing Sexy which evidently describes the government software biz and PSI who somehow still supports Tom Brady even after Deflategate.
Fantastic to see such a strong group. There was a small core group that kept TBD going but now it is on fire. Love seeing faces with whom I am less familiar and knowing that they all want to get better each and every day. Getting up before dawn to push your mind and body outside is no small feat. Merkins and burpees in the gloom aren”t sexy but getting stronger every day is even if the improvement is gradual. Kudos to Sweats for establishing a great site that allows more and more men to improve themselves daily. An honor to lead this group.
