Not really a Q, more like an errand

QIC: Fish and Chips
PAX: Nickelback, Toast McQueen, Pusher, Muzungu, Milton, Bumper Sticker, TB, Cortes, Half Back

T-claps once again for the outstanding way The Wolf was organized and executed last Saturday. The PAX of the Northern Province always provide hospitality and a great time. It inspired YHC to visit again for Duck and Weave, it had been too long without seeing these fine folks, so I grabbed the open Q spot.

Warmup:
25 SSH
15 Hillbillies
10 arm circles each way
10 Good Mornings
10 WMHs

The Thang:
At one point in the Wolf we saw the logs moving at high speed across the middle of the speedway field. The logs were left behind as we moved on, so YHC being civic minded decided we needed to tidy up. This turned today’s D&W into more of an errand than a Q as we headed out to the Speedway to retrieve the logs. I announced this to the PAX who gathered in the 25F temps before we started and there was much rejoicing and statements of what a fine idea this indeed was, with Toast McQueen being the most vocal.

Nickelback led us out with headlights on to the Riverwalk trail and we mosied together down the track in the dark. It was a morning of companionship and conversation. When the lead pack got too far ahead we paused and did some exercises to get everyone back together – merkins, SSH, squats and possibly a couple of others (it was cold, and I’m old so I forget). Toast continued to explain to the group just how good an idea this was whenever we were all together again.

We made it to the Speedway in about 15 minutes or so and headed out to find the logs on the dark field. Surprisingly they were still where we left them. We grabbed the logs with the idea of trying to get back to home base in 20 minutes which was going to be a long ask. The PAX leaned into the challenge.

As we paused to regroup Toast and Muzungu came out of the gloom, with Toast once again declaring how well formed this Q was turning out to be. To be honest I almost felt a little embarrassed under his seemingly unending praise however no-one could really see me blush in the dark.

We recognized that we could only go so far, so the logs were left closer to the AO however not quite back. The PAX mosied along the path heading for home. Toast led the way at the end, up the bank near Weaver Street. Right before then Nickelback had asked Bumper Sticker how he felt on his second F3 outing. BP replied that he felt “like I have been just born”. I still don’t know what that means, but it caused laughter anyway which is the best medicine or so I’m told.
