Man, I didn’t think this one through….

November 26, 2017

WHEN: 11/24/2017
QIC: Gomer (VQ)
PAX: Mothman, RG3, Bunyan, Chum, Rebar, Mumbles, Nescafe, Duplo, Horney Toad, Rambler, Closer, Bunyan

YHC woke up this morning, looked at his phone and saw a temperature of 26.  I said to myself, man you didn’t think this through all that well on picking this date to do your VQ.  I  had to keep my Thanksgiving celebrating in check so I could make it through the workout.  Horney Toad, however had other plans.  As both our families were celebrating Thanksgiving together I noticed he kept filling up my wine glass as soon as it was empty.  Luckily, YHC was good to go the next day.

13 PAX made the journey out to the wall today for a post Thanksgiving beatdown.

Warm Up:

  • SSH IC X 30
  • Willie Mays Hayes IC x 15
  • Imperial Walkers IC x 15
  • Arm Circles (Forward and back) IC x 10 each
  • Merkins IC x 10
  • Calf stretch 10 count each
  • Hamstring stretch 10 count each

Let’s get to work…

PAX moseyed to the tennis courts and made use of all three courts.

  • Sideline to sideline for each court we alternated bear crawls and crab walks.  Between each court, 5 burpees were completed.  Rinse and repeat on the way back to the original sideline of court 1.
  • Ten count has to be recorded here solely because there was nomination for Mothman to become our permanent ten count person.
  • No chunks were blown at this juncture, but we we’re keeping an eye on Chum.  There was a bold declaration made by him at the beginning of this workout.

Next we took a jog to the Constellation park.  At the beginning of the pathway that leads up to the park, we picked up the pace as we ran to the top.

Once at Constellation Park, we partnered up and completed the following at the circle.

  • Derkins x 50 two man team
  • Tricep Dips x 50 two man team
  • 50 squats completed by everyone

After a few 10 counts we moseyed again.  Once we made it to the bottom of the hill we stopped at the first road to the left.  PAX were instructed to sprint up the hill to the first house.  Once there, lunges were on menu to the next street light.  Plank it out until everyone was finished.

Chum still going strong….no chunks reported.

We made our way back to AO to finish it off with some Wall action.

Exercises all on my count and included:

  • BTTW as vertical as you can get.
  • Walk it out to a 45 degree angle.  (One PAX commented, “Already there!”)
  • BTTW again
  • Walk it out to a 45 degree angle again.

Time for one more exercise….

  • Peoples chair 5 count each with Arms up most of the way thanks to Nescafe.

Mary

We had a minute to spare so we did some American Hammers IC x 30.

COT:

Just thankful for the ability to come out here and exercise with you gentleman.  We’re extremely lucky to have so many AO’s within walking distance.  You’ve all created one heck of a welcoming and supportive atmosphere.  For all the gentleman who haven’t Q’d yet.  It’s an exhilarating experience and one I recommend doing.

Post COT Items of Note:

Chum made it through the workout with no chunks thrown.

My right hand middle finger for some reason was the only one burning from the cold.  No clue what the reasoning was there.

Horney Toad left his sweatshirt of which RG3 took it for safekeeping.  As he is leaving the AO, Rambler and Horney Toad bolted past my car to chase down RG3.  It was a sight to see and man, Rambler is pretty darn fast.
