YHC saw that there was an opening on the Q sheet for the last pre-grade school Friday of the summer and jumped on it. YHC was expecting Animal House Site-Q and stalwart Food Lion and maybe a few others. YHC wanted to bring an old school beatdown approach that would include use of coupons, the track, and the hill…So the call for coupons went out on slack and there was some traction and pre-cursors to mumble chatter.
YHC had a late night at work with some inclement weather delays related to the first official home athletic event of the year at UNC in the beautiful new soccer stadium – a 3-0 Women’s Soccer win vs. Indiana…Got home around 11:30…asleep by 12:30…Up at 4:50 for Animal House Q. YHC rolled in about 1 minute shy of go time and was fired up to see a number of PAX ready to go…10 total after it was all said and done and YHC had to make a few slight modifications to account for the larger numbers. YHC did hit up the AMRAP on Thursday and Vespa (who led a brutal beatdown there) had a few pointers about the Animal House site – including some conveniently placed tires! Thanks Vespa!

The Thang
The Pax in attendance stepped up to the Slack call out and we had coupons (4 kettle bells, a sand bag, bar bells, a ruck). We broke up into two groups of five.
One group was going to perform an as quickly as possible coupon carry lap around the track, keeping the group together to encourage some good mumble chatter.
The other group of five rotated through a five exercise circuit with the pull-ups as the timer
Pull-ups -> Kettlebell swings->Upright Rows-> tire flips -> burpees.
Once the coupon carrying pax completed their lap, we switched spots and the coupon carriers did the heavy metal circuit and the pax that completed the heavy metal circuit jumped into the coupon carry lap. The timing worked out really well in that the coupon pax were generally able to get in one set of each exercise in the 3:30ish it took for the coupon carrying pax to complete a 1/4 mile lap.
We completed 4 laps for each group (totaling a mile of coupon carry) and cumulatively about 300 burpees, 400 tire flips, 400 pull ups, 500 upright rows, 800 kettlebell swings.
The next part of the main event was a Dora style competition to push (or pull) a tire up the hill.
We stayed in our groups of five, and one person from each team stepped up and pushed/pulled a tire up the hill as far as they could, while they called out an exercise that the remaining pax and they had to do 10 of that exercise and then rotate so that each team member got a chance to do the tire push/pull. It was a bit of a competition to see who could get the tire furthest up the hill. Nelly called burpees first, while Subprime called air squats and hilarity ensued. It was tough to get the tire up the hill, and once everyone completed one turn, we pushed the tire down the hill in the same fashion.
The Pax grabbed the coupons and returned to the startex for…

It was so great to be with this group of men today. Inspiring support, great fellowship and an awesome work out. What a great start to a busy day. YHC was able to propel the positive energy in a very productive and encouraging presence to the folks in YHC’s orbit. Let’s keep HCing folks that haven’t been in F3 and bringing those that have left. Who is going to #BeTheOne to help make Animal House Great Again – sign up to Q today!
