WHEN: 07/17/2019
QIC: I.C.E.

Inspired by the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11 Landing on the Moon, and under a (full?) moon, intense humidity YHC led the PAX in a ‘lunar landing’ bootcamp.

Warm-Up (Learning to Fly)

SSH x25 IC

WMH x10 IC

Merkins x 11 IC

Individual Stretches

After warming up and ‘learning to fly’, YHC began the ORBIT process involving the following:

  • 1 lap around the Moon’s Surface (aka the Traffic Circle) (group almost getting killed by 3 vehicles)
  • A lap down Great Ridge parkway with 10 burpees at the intersection
  • Bernie Sanders back up the hill to the Moon’s surface

The Thang (Lunar Landing)

[While on lunar surface, (lunar) lunge walks were only allowed form of travel]

Alternating Dips and Step-ups to Sting’s “Walking on the Moon” (5 minute long song!!)

PAX proceeded to lunge walk to 3 of the lunar pod sculptures where 3 groups “enjoyed” the following:

Round 1: Group 1: Merkins, Group 2: Mountain Climbers and Group 3: WWIIs (x 25)

Round 2: Group 1: Squats, Group 2: Supermans and Group 3: Flutters (x 25)

Round 3: Group 1: Merkins, Group 2: Mountain Climbers and Group 3: WWIIs (x 50)

{Damn, the moon is HUMID} About this time @Marky-Mark commented that the workout reminded him of the movie Interstellar where 5 mins in space took 5 years back home.

PAX lunar lunge walked the perimeter of the Moon’s Landing in prep for Re-Entry

Re-Entry (Grass Quad in front of pool)

PAX divided into 2 groups, bear crawled to middle for 11 buddy merkins, crab walked back to spots and repeated with 11 mountain climbers w buddy.

COURAGE: It took a ton of courage for Neil Armstron, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to go to the moon! Their Houston/NASA support staff exhibited courage as well.

Take this idea in your life. Show courage at work, with your families, etc.. It takes courage to Q. Be a courageous leader wherever it is that you lead. AMEN!
