Like Clockwork

YHC had a funny idea during the F3 Custom GoRuck Tough. Do an exercise, measure the time it takes until all PAX are done, do reps of the next exercise based on how long it took. So, let’s see how it played out.

*Spoiler alert: turns out YHC is often pretty slow at various exercises.

EC: YHC set out solo at 0500 for a run.

Warmup: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Good Mornings, Willie Mays Hayes, Slow Merkins.

The Main Event:

Mosey to the hill. The PAX ran up the hill, which took 24 seconds by YHC’s watch. So, 24 OYO burpees (broken up into three sets). Back to the bottom.

Backwards run up the hill, which took 64 seconds. So, 64 hand release merkins, together (broken up into three sets). Back to the bottom.

Bear crawl up the hill, which took 95 seconds. So, 47 OYO WWIIs (one for every two seconds, to preserve the PAX, broken up into three sets).

Mosey through the parking lot to the school, which took 79 seconds. So, 79 overhead claps, together (one set).

Next up was The People’s Caterpillar. The PAX lined up along the wall. The PAX got into The People’s Chair. PAX farthest to the left dropped, bear crawled to the other end, got back in The People’s Chair and called for the next PAX. Repeat until the PAX reached the other end of the wall. This took 98 seconds, so 98 squats together (broken up into three sets).

Next up was the Plank Caterpillar. PAX lined up shoulder to shoulder in plank starting at one end of the sidewalk. First PAX does two merkins, pops up, taps the next PAX, runs to the end and gets back into plank. Once the next PAX is tapped, he starts his two merkins and repeato until we reach the other end of the sidewalk. This took 88 seconds, so the PAX did 88 cadence count flutter kicks (broken up into three sets). Two were added, for a total of 90, due to the use of foul language by YHC and a couple other PAX.

Lightning Round:

10 burpees OYO (38 seconds). 38 jump squats (64 seconds). 32 hand release merkins (one for every 2 seconds of squat jumps, 60 seconds). 12 burpees (one for every 5 seconds of hand release merkins).

Mary: Not much time for Mary, so the PAX circled up, plank position, and 5 merkin ring of fire until the clock ran out. Got through two rounds.
