Avalanche showed up for EC even though YHC called it quits after hearing crickets on Slack. Good on you, buddy. You”re one step ahead of the rest of us today. Feeling fresh as a daisy having rested another 30 minutes, YHC decided to hit everyone with a little good news/bad news for the Q today. The bad news always came first: it came in the form of 100 burpees, 100 merkins, and 100 jump squats. The good news? We broke it up with some sprints, bear crawls, and lunge walks. Some mumblechatter suggested a desire to go to Vortex. YHC replied that Vortex and The Big Dance cost the same amount and also have the same money back guarantee. F3 workouts are fungible goods, each costing the same – the price is the amount of effort you put into it!
We used the tennis court as our primary venue to get the party rocking. Here”s how it all went down. Nothing like some good ole” fashioned sprinting to get the juices flowing.
- Sprint 2 courts and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 3 courts and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 4 courts and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 3 and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 2 and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 3 and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 4 and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 3 and back: 10 burpees
- Sprint 4 and back: 20 burpees
Same idea for the merkins and lunge walks. First, we bear crawled to end of each tennis court, 10 merkins, then to the next, and the next, all the way to 100 (2 sets of 25 at end).
Then, we lunge walked to end of each tennis court, 10 squat jumps, all the way to 100 (2 sets of 25 at end).
Mosey to the swingsets. 3 guys on the swingset. Guy in the middle on cadence count. 25 Swerkins while the rest of the PAX do flutter kicks to the same cadence count. This is a great way to make sure everyone suffers at once (in the same cadence), and wow, those swerkins are tough!
